Hello all

My Name is Evon (pronounced E von) I have been out of the hobby for about eight years and have just recently return to the hobby. Of course I started with An Align 600n FBL to get my fingers back limbered up.

The first thing I discovered upon returning to the hobby was the demise of Miniature Aircraft. While I have not been a lover of the latest birds I was a true lover of the X-Cell 99 Spec SE. I really enjoyed the mechanics and design of the helicopter. But with no Support it's defiantly not the way to go.

So I found the Aurora line. It does not have the mechanic complexity of the SE but it is definitely a high quality, precisions designed machine which I can appreciate.

So, I'm not rich but I did find a Aurora 90 Nitro in very good condition for a good price. I received it today and am pleased with my purchase.

I have it spreed out all over the table and the first goal is to clean and inspect everything. A couple of pictures of the table

The helicopter did come with the standard fly bar head and with a compass FBL Head, Not sure which way I going to go. But, it's time to get started.

Welcome back to the hobby EON!

I am sure you will enjoy the Aurora. So far I have been enjoying mine, taking it apart and putting it back together. Why? Because ... I didn't do it right from the beginning as you are. So I got a spare frame and motor also for a very reasonable price and now I am putting it back together. I had to order a couple of things online to get it complete, but if everything arrives quickly, I'll be able to fly it next week or so.

Although I have a compass FBL head too, I really enjoy the simplicity of the FB head. It allows for mild to wild settings and yes, it is fly bared but in my stage, I can't tell you which one I prefer as I can't tell the difference.

Anyway, good luck with your build and let's see more pictures
Enjoy it!

Spent the weekend going through and assembling the Aurora. closely inspected all gear lashes. The engine alignment took a while to get smooth. Everything is assembled but I'm lacking an exhaust gasket which I just ordered from Ron's.

I'm Using an iCon V2 FLB Controller and it is 90% set-up with the exception of programing a couple of switches and a couple of radio set-ups. Mode select switch, throttle hold and bail out Switch.

You'll notice a couple of things in the below pictures, first is my leveling board. During FBL set-up I level the helicopter using the leveling board. My shop is not level and this my answer to that problem. Next is the rubber bands going across the back landing gear tubes. This is to counteract the weight of the helo on the back landing gear. I store my helicopters this way to keep the landing gear from flaring out.

Now for some Pictures.
