Tail Pinion Problem
I have both an older Vibe 50 and a new Vibe 50 NEX, both flbar models, both with OS 50 SX Hyper engines. Just recently both machines have stripped the teeth on the tail pinion gear. The older Vibe has stripped the gear three times now. It only lasts about 6 flights. Im not into 3D flight at all, only a few loops, flips and piros. The NEX has only stripped the gear once, but that is one time too many. So far Ive ended up with minimal damage. I just love both of these birds and prefer to fly them over my electric aligns. Does anyone have any ideas about what I might try as a fix for this problem? Thanks, Dale.

Strange - never seen this on the original V50 that I have flown many years back.

Since both machines have shown the same problem - maybe you are setting the gear mesh a bit on the loose side ? (that's the only thing I could think of wright now !)

Is this the gear on the end of the tail or near the main gear?

You can use (almost) any aftermarket mod 1 metal pinion gear. Steel made and many times longer lasting than plastic. Just make sure it has the same number of teeth. Most aftermarket pinions are 5mm internal diameter.
