Question about x50 main blade grips
Hello all

I've got some of the metal grips pv1401 fitted to my x50.
I lost the main bolt insert/ bush that fits in them to house the main blade to grip bolt.
I'd not really noticed the bush until it fell out and I lost it. Now I need a new grip.

My question is what's the difference between these x50 blade grips pv0663-1 and a Raptor v2 blade grip?

I've got some new unused quick uk grips for a raptor v2, could I use these on a x50

Regards

The PV0663-1 is the plastic grips that came with the X50B, so it will work. The V2 and Quick UK grips will need to have the radial bearings changed out to 7mm. ID. and the blade bolts will need to be inserted upside down because the grips will be changed to leading edge.

Hello
Thanks for the reply

I don't have the plastic grips for the x50 only the metal ones for the x50. I bought it second hand and it came with metal grips only. I do however have some Quick uk grips for use on V2.

Is the only difference between the V2 plastic grips and the x50 plastic grips that the recess for the nut on the other side?

You mention different bearing sizes. Could you elaborate so I can order some, or see what I've got lying around.

You're right about the nut recess. The X50 uses a 7mm. spindle, 6mm. for R50. But, both use the same thrust bearings.

i'm running the quick uk grips on my x50
they are the same as the quick uk shuttle grips
mine came with the bearings for the shuttle spindle
so i just popped them out and fitted the bearings from the plastic x50b grips

Whilst on the subject of blade grips there is a V2 set of metal grips for the X50.

What has changed that prompted a V2?

PV1418 is the V1 and PV1443 is the V2

The change was made when the E550 FBL came out with 7mm. feathering shaft and no 6mm. reduction at the ends of the shaft for the thrust bearings.

Thank you.

I have just purchased the parallel spindle and thrust bearings.

The FBL instruction sheet suggests I have the V1 grips with the 7mm spindle turned down at the end.

Is it worth getting the V2 grips do you know?

Member don s has put the V2 shaft and thrust bearing in the V1 grips. You need to PM him for the results.

I ran the V2 shaft/bearings with V1 grips and still needed shims. Flies fine.

The head play I've encountered varied by the machine (I have 3 X50 heads).

I don't know what's different with the V2 grips.
E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

Thanks for posting Don.

One more expense saved!

I have a slight tolerance problem with one of my blade grips. The inner part of the new thrust bearing is extremely tight so much so that I needed "help" to get it to fit.
