Normally I would be right there bitching and complaining about the safety issues with everyone else but, they were out over the water far away from the crowds AND it is a spectacular point of view. If they had been over land my thoughts would be totally different over than the point of view.

That was beautiful, but it would have been fantastic with a GH4 shooting 4k.

funny you mentioned that Wayne. Yesterday I was contacted by the NBC station who puts on the big show here to see what the possibilities were for next year. I said I'd have to think about it...I guess we have a year to make a decision.

We did a fireworks show last year for Discovery Channel which turned out really well. I would love to do one like this, but it would have to be over water and strictly done with a Fantom or some similarly cheap (relatively speaking) quad.

yep, definitely. They're a little more disposable than what you normally operate!

Just what I was going to say.
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

While it's a really cool video it's already attracting attention. Here's a interesting example.

The problem I have with this is that there was a very high probability of damage to the quad. If the damage was catastrophic, then no problem. It would fall into the water. However, minor damage may not have become apparent until the trip back. I think it is safe to assume that he landed at the same place as he started - near people. A loss of control at that point puts people in danger.

They should ban all fireworks shows because it could go wrong and hurt people:

As a matter of fact, they should ban all airplanes because airplanes could have failures and crash into homes:

Why not ban videos that don't work?
