I do something similar - only I like a 5 gallon jug.

For those that don't want to make one, Slimline sells a pre-made unit. I haven't measured it but I'm guessing it's about 2 1/2 gal.

Well, I used to have this 5 gallon can, filled with gas and oil, a mixture ready to fly.
Then, I realized that it wasn't a good procedure. I was wasting my time, effort and money.

So, at this time, I keep this 5 gallon can full with gas in a secure place at home and
I prepare a gallon with gas and oil a day before flying my helis.

At the end of the day, the rest of this one gallon of mixture is going to "feed" my truck.

Next weekend, fresh mix.

Now, talking about Glow cans...

When things got very difficult in my town, I decided to prepare my own glow mixture.

So, we look for methanol, Castrol oil, klotz oil and some gallons of cool power 30% nitro.

From 30% nitro, I did testing and finally decide to fly with 5% nitro.

Now, I prepare 4 gallons with my own mixture at 5% every now and then.

A can, a gallon, of course.

When things get hot...
Flying 50 class, a gallon per weekend...Flying 90 class, two gallon per weekend...

When things get crazy and insane... Flying 50 and 90...my god..!

This is why my favorite heli is raptor titan 50...

PD

My Fury 91YSST and my Trex600 OS55HZ refuse to work with 5% and did protest every time.
Ok, no problem... 30%.

It occurs to me that not everyone is familiar with Uline. If you are considering making you own fuel container, you might surf around their site. Almost certainly they have what you are looking for.

Similarly, you might try US Plastics. I've bought from them in the past and been very pleased.
