you know, there are a lot of ignorant people out there, ignorant of the world to come, like people who shoot bullets at other people because they're poor losers. Making someone or something go away because they say something you don't like is totally counter productive.

If you want some understanding, the money to be made from toys is in the hundreds of billions, .05% would buy as many helis as Tareq could ever dream of. And speaking of Tareq, I would make reference to Maxwell, Boission, Stacey, Kamererer, and say it would take about 50 grand+ cash in crashed helis to get where they are while going through the learning curve, that's impressive, the ability and the cost, you learn by TRIAL AND ERROR, and RISK. I think with that kind of money it would be possible to join that group, no lack of hand to eye reflexes withstanding.

Trial and Error, something we all learn from, mistakes are not to be ignored, the "ignore" thing can be a big mistake.

What I wanted to add to the "Tail" topic was simply that the tail servo only sees a load under radical pitch changes and when the clamps have no Chinese weights, whats a 2oz spring to it when used as a throttle return SAFETY device. Why was it, the spring, not mandatory at all clubs long ago? Today's servos are way over powered and what used to be a 6v 4kg servo is now 3 times the kg or more and up to 8v multiplying the torque even further.

Try this sometime, power up your heli, now rest a finger on one swash plate servo link. Push the link down while you move the stick to make the servo horn move up. You know, a 24kg torque servo is in excess of 50 POUNDS, FIFTY FREAKIN POUNDS, costing about $250 on average each, OVERKILL. Those are the kind of servos you'd want on a 1500mm 3000rpm 25lb man eater tree chopper chopper, what's a little springy thingy?

Why did not OS and or any heli motor maker provide a DUAL spring (inner/outer) safety spring for their motors long ago? Pretty ignorant if you ask me.

It was pretty ignorant of the stunt heli pilot to ignore the lack of height when pulling a g-turn too close to the ground, many many other ignorant life ending mistakes out there by persons who thought they knew it all.

take a lesson

(ohh yea, it's the weekend of July 4th, everyone's out on holiday or flying this weekend, not going to be much web traffic till they all return, ,,,,,)

"Clamps"? Is that how you refer to tail blade grips? And you want people to take you seriously? Boy howdy...

what do "grips" do? They "clamp", what shape do they take? A "C". Must have been a subconscious influence stemming from my many years using "C" clamps to do work of one sort or another, and they have been referred to as clamps by other people all the same. This has NOTHING to do with seriousness or not.

How's the flying going these days?

Yeah, I guess you're right. We should start calling head blocks "spinner attachment thingies" because they rotate and provide an attachment point for the clamps, er, main blade grips.

Isn't it totally incredible that a body of 700000 trillion cells can be destroyed by the stinger of a sloptard mosquito transmitting a microbial parasite totally invisible to the naked eye. A little bad can destroy a lot of good can it not.

Do University trained professional engineers not screw up too?

HeimD is a perfect candidate for everyone's ignore list.
Nothing constructive to add...ever.
Just argues for the sake of arguing.

I have him on ignore to stop the endless PMs trying to get me riled up.

fair enough, he's just contesting my delivery, no harm in that and actually a fun challenge, (like a stingy cougar lady I crossed paths with today e-gad. Blessed are the peace makers).

Weekend concluded in a backyard circuit with my 300 then some retaining wall maintenance. Now it's a little practice public writing (big schpeel to come). What another fantastic day at the beach, and it's got a little flying area about a couple of square acres too. No need, there's a half dozen or more places nearby to really let a rc heli go for a stretch.

cool thread after all thanks.

I think the ignore function is very good on this site. I "encourage" people to put me on ignore if I disturb them beyond their tolerance level.

The ignore feature can actually help keep down those pesky deleted posts or the feared "banned".
