YS 91 SRS With Funtec Pipe Advice needed.
I think it may be a bad bearing..

It flew fine on Monday although sounded rich.. I left it as it was as I had plenty of power for loops and rolls.

Well today as it was warm I went to fire it up and all was fine in idle, but as soon as I moved the stick up and the GV1 kicked in it went lean sounded scratchy, and Awful, tail boom was shaking side to side with the engine running not smooth.

I shut down, and went to pull off the fuel pipe pulg to release the pressure and it did not hiss as it usually does, so I checked all line for leaks, checked the clunk, and checked the one way check valve, I could blow through the pipe to the engine.

I fuelled and ran it up again and the same thing, as soon as the GV comes in and it runs up to 1650 (it doesn't get there as it sounds so lean ) the heli seems to vibrate and causes the GV not to lock head speed.

I run Optipower 20% through it.. and as said it has been fine, this is a new bottle of fuel which I opened a week ago... it has been stored in my car boot/trunk .

I am leaning towards a new rear bearing..

If you could blow through the line (and check valve) to the engine then the check valve is stuck open, it should only allow flow from the engine to the fuel tank. Try a new check valve.

HI Folks,
Just wanted to say thanks for the help and answering my question.
It was a combination of an old plug that had done many flights and the check valve.

When I took the plug out and looked at it under an eye piece the coil was all pitted and worn..

And when I took the check valve apart the rubber diaphragm had worn where the spring presses against it so it was sucking itself into the pipe and causing a blockage, I turned it over and the valve worked fine, so I replaced the entire valve with a new one from my spares, just turning the engine over and then releasing the pressure valve I could hear a loud hiss so pressure was back in the tank.

Many thanks again am happy to have my Fury Tempest back to flying.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Matt
