kosmic 200 or 160
I am collecting the parts to build my 1st 700. I have had a MOSTRO ordered for some time now. I plan to do 12s as I already have a 6s e5. I plan to become proficient at aggressive 3d, and am currently working diligently at this endeavor.

Do I need the 200, or will the 160 suffice?

I had planned to run the Scorpion 4525-520 UItimate.

I will be running the vbar and torq hv servos. Will the built in bec suffice? Thoughtful advice is appreciated.

the 160 will likely be more than enough. The question i asked myself is for the price is it worth NOT having a 200. there is no drawback to having a 200 over a 160. same weight, capability, ect....

so if you have the money to buy a 160, do you think adding another 120$ is worth having almost limitless power available to you?

The BEC on the Kosmik is rock solid in my opinion. I have had 2, 200 amp versions and have never run even a backup with well over 400 flights. Just make sure you use the second power cable as recommended.

I'm using the 160, but I went with the 160 because I know my flying style and motor combination doesn't require the 200.

Is the cool version with heat sink worth the extra hundred bucks? Will it fit fine under the mostro canopy?

i had one standard Kosmik on a goblin and now a cool on my Synergy E7, running a 750 pyro competition on 12s with no fan installed it comes down usually under 100 degrees on the sink with ambient air temp in the 80's after a good beating. I don't think there is much info around yet on the new Avant but the heat sink does not add much height.Team Synergy, Team FBL Rotors-------if its not broke...it will be!

The 200 meets or well exceeds the needs of the vast majority of pilots. Later on if you want a little extra margin of cooling you can easily add the little muffin fan which is quite low in profile. The sink versions are particularly applicable to speed models which will pull high current continuously on a speed pass.

Have a Mostro with the Kosmik 200 and just recently had to do some full collective with elevator cornered to pullout of a misjudged loop. Jeti telemetry showed a spike of 202 amps. Not that the 160 could not have handled the spike but it was comforting to know the 200 was in the heli.Logo Xxtreme 800

160 would not have blinked at that spike. Guys have hit instantaneous spikes in excess of 300 amps with the 200 without a shut down.

Agree Ben. The Kosmik is probably the best ESC out there. I love the butter smooth spool ups as well.Logo Xxtreme 800

Easily into the 200's with good cooling.

Thanks. I'm thinking I'll probably get the 160, unfortunately, they were out of stock at the dealer I checked yesterday. I read some reviews on it about guys bashing it in a 12s 700 and still coming down quite cool.
