Getting back into the hobby!
Hi Guys, I've been away from the hobby for a few years and was thinking about getting back into a hirobo machine! I don't really want a top end machine. Maybe an evo 90 with an upgraded head???

I see there has been a few different heads for the Freya and Turbulence models. Can sombody explain to me what the difference is between the SSZ-4 and SSZ-5? They look the same to me.

I was actually considering buying the Evo op with SSZ-V head. Is this head suited to 3D or is it more for F3C style flying. I can't find any other info on what this kit has over the standard model except the the SS-5 head.

Am i right in assuming parts are still availble for the evo?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

The 5 head was designed for primarily f3c. It has longer grips and different mixing arms than the 4.

The 4 head is the one that comes on the Turbulence and is primarily the 3D head, though with some slight mods it makes a decent f3c head as well.

They are quality heads and will both fit the evo. Hirobo has seemed to have gone dormant. Best place for getting parts is RCJapan, at least here in the states.

Thanks Rapidity, I'm just a bit stuck on whether I want HPM or SWM. Do you think HPM would still be as crisp and responsive as SWM if I use super fast and high torque servos? I'm also torn between the OS 105 and YS120!

Swm would give more snap as it is faster response. Hpm might be a little slower but it would be a little more precise. 3d? Most would go swm... if you want hpm it can match performance but you'd need higher spec servos to get similar performance that lower spec servos give with swm

The pitch collective servo in particular would need very high spec.
