I spent most of yesterday installing a new Futaba 750 in my heli. Of course I set up the swash, tail and gov. It's a fair bit of work to get right and mistakes are catastrophic. As I took it to the field today for a first test flight, the images of this thread were clear in my mind.

Thanks again.... sorta.

Wow, I can never fathom the thought of even considering flying at a park again, especially with a f'ing 700. Between these pictures, and some actual pictures I saw of Roman, this hobby will never be the same for me.

I always have a tendency to fly far away and high up, even when I first started flying in 2007. Sure, it's not impressive because it's not on the deck for a crowd-pleasing show, but there is a MUCH lower chance of this sort of thing happening when far out and high up.

I'm glad the guy "KillerJupe" was fortunate enough, and I'm glad others will always hear the story so it won't be forgotten: just how deadly these machines can be.

Your contribution to this thread is very good. I've lived through a painful hobby injury, pic in my gallery. Movies and pictures of traumatic accidents is as close to the real thing we can offer. They share the reality of what we could suffer.

OMG that was inches from deadly. I bought a 550 before I was ready for it. It literally scares me when its in my vicinity so I spend more time with my mcpx bl and Trex 450 pro. Hopefully as I get more proficient with my smaller birds I'll be more comfortable with my 550.
