Are you interested in helping out at the 2014 IRCHA Jamboree?

The volunteer web page is up at

http://www.ircha.org/register/volunteer_start

Sign up now!
Flightline volunteer - Take a 4 passenger cart we provide and take people from pilot tents to flying stations, vendors, etc.

Flightline Marshall - This person goes up and down the line making sure that the flightline rules are followed such as making sure that there are only 2 people on a station, not overflying a flight box, policing cart traffic on the flightline, etc. Basically our eyes when we cant be there.

Site 3 Marshall- Our eyes and ears at Site 3. Making sure that the rules of the event are followed, helping other pilots, etc.

Shuttle driver - Drive the provided van around AMA taking people to the various sites, venues, full scale helicopter rides, AMA museum, etc.

Speed cup volunteer- Assists in the speed cup. these are limited and require prior knowledge. But if you show up they might need help if someone doesn't show.

General Helper- Fills in for what ever we need help with, whenever and wherever we cant be. Taking tables and chairs to vendors setting up the seminar tents, filling in for other positions where volunteers might now show up. Dont worry, this isn't cleaning the Porta-johns, we have a service for that.....

Remember that you get raffle tickets for service in the Volunteer only raffles.

Its the person that tries to enforce the rules along the flight line, also the same person that some of the sponsored pilots and Jamboree sponsors feel they can ignore when you try to enforce such rules. Ask me why I say that!

Exactly Tyler, one of the event sponsors / pilot even gave that as an excuse for him to be allowed to break the rules. What these egotistical jerks don't realize is that everyone else is watching what they do and think they can do the same so it makes it harder for the Marshall's to do their job.

There are two positions there. Which one is the one where you drive the golf cart around giving rides to the flight stations and back.

I have never been a position to volunteer but if I remember right every time slot you sign up to work you get a ticket to a volunteer raffel. Is this correct?

Thanks, T.J.

Signed up for Flightline Volunteer
I always see the volunteers having a good time so WTH I camp the whole thing anyways. What's a few hours. But descriptions of where to start and check in would be good.

Simple... You arrive about 5 minutes early to your signed up start time for check-in. You meet at show center by the bleachers and look for someone (Dan) holding a clip board with the sign in sheet. That person will fill you in with what you need to do.

If you are driving the flight line...you give rides for anyone that needs a ride. To and from or to some place on the flight line. It is a great way to meet new people and checkout some of their heli's/equipment. So for flight line duty, you drive up and down the flight line giving rides to anyone that needs a ride.
