Kinda depends on how you look at it. If you balance all 3 blades to within the same accuracy, then no.
Right, but you still one more blade to balance.

I've been flying a 3 blade auto gyro lately. Really fun and pretty challenging. And you're right - all blades must match. The first time I flew my auto gyro I didn't balance the blades and it almost shook the tail off.
I fly autogyros and made my own blades for a three blade system.
My first autogyro came with blades that I balanced but flew way too fast to stay airborne ,,,so I made bigger blades for it. It is very easy to do but takes abit of time but is fun if you know the procedure .
Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Probably part of the reason I want one, or should I say three?

OMG... Three blades... I gotta have one.. I don't know why, but I gotta have one. I cannot fly what I have, but three blades will solve all my flying problems. How can I possibly show up at the field with last years two blade model? The guys will laugh at me and tell me that I am crazy for not trying three blades.

NOT!

I think that the now accepted generation of FBL has opened up 'easier' avenues to experiment with multi bladed head's... And as for marketing them,,, well why not!!

I can see the benefit for general big air sport flying, but not so sure about hard 3d.!

I watched a video of 'shrek' comparing the new goblin 3 bladed prototype, and he tried to explain the difference, but alas i cannot find it!!

And what's all this balancing blades thing?, i haven't balanced blades in almost 10 years.

??

Yeah what is a KROLL, is it a posh TROLL??

I think they meant Koll Rotor pro. It's a fancy rotor balancer.Heli-itis sufferer.

3 Blade flys different.

Try it.

I have 2 3 bladed 800s with rigid heads.

The flight precision is phantastic.

Quite true, but it sure keeps things interesting and fresh. I say this because about the time Kyosho discontinued the Concept 30, things were pretty stale in the hobby (for me). There was no RR where you could instantly learn about upcoming stuff. Heli mags were ~6 months behind, and the newest news came from the Heli shop you spent an hour driving to. And that news was not always reliable .

I for one welcome 3 blades. Not sure when I'll one, but one of these days...

OK. Got it. I was the one that posted that the Koll Rotor Pro might become popular again. I was confused because it seemed that others were suggesting Kroll was the correct term - and if not correct, at least the source of a joke I didn't understand.

Since I have and use a Koll Rotor Pro, and because I knew Laurel Koll, I wondered if Kroll meant something that was going over my head.

Cheers,

Bill
