Just my .02. If the motor is too hot, It is probably from a lean condition. But the plug you pulled out looked pretty rich and fouled.
Not really sure what you were talking about with the 1/2 tank, But if it's not getting fuel, check the pickup line inside the tank and make sure there are no leaks.

when mine would get hot the primer bulb would not pull gas either. that was one way I knew it was hot. when you do fly do you hover mostly or forward flight?

Pay careful attention to your throttle and pitch curves on a gasser, the engine will overheat and bog with low r.p.m and too much pitch. An over rich situation will add to the problem if curves are mismatched too!

The best way to succeed in this hobby is to find local help. Have you been able to find someone in your area who may be able to assist you with the issues you're having?

I think Greyeagle had a good description with his thoughts on pitch and throttle curves, you should re-read what he has posted.I expect too rich a mixture and mismatched curves are a lot of your problems, too rich and the engine needs to rev to clear its throat, too much pitch will not allow the engine to rev and bog, like trying to pull away on a hill in top gear with the choke full out.The tune, curves need to work together, complement reach other, can take time to fine tune. You obviously have realized your throttle trim is much too low to start your engine, remember leaning off your engine will cause the revs to come up at idle so readjust as required.Greyeagle mentioned you do not need extremes of pitch, this is very true if gentle flying is your thing.

Dude where were you two weekends ago. There was a heli fun fly in Stow MA. Raja, Larry, myself and several other gasser fliers were there.

We could of attacked that thing like a nascar pit crew and had it running like a top in no time

Looks great!
Are you using a governor? If so, you now calibrate it to those new positions.

I don't use any throttle expo on mine. If after your needles are set, and she bogs on throttle up with the blades on, it is most likely a lean condition. Unless it is spitting and burbleing on throttle up but it is hard to kill a 2 stroke gasser with a slightly too rich condition so I am guessing lean. NOT needle lean, air leak or fuel delivery lean.

I just watched your video. Remove the fuel dot from your tank vent line. You can't get fuel without atmospheric pressure to vent the gas tank.
