It's been forever since I've seen a post about someone flying a G20 or G30.
I'd love to see and read about people flying their G20s and G30s.

I you don't fly much when the wife is off work, I'm screwed. Mine is retired! Actually, she's on terminal leave prior to retiring from the Air Force. But I think I'm still screwed.

It's been raining almost everyday here in San Antonio. We need the rain, but it turns the field to mush. And we don't just have mud here, it's that sticky clay mud that pulls your shoes off your feet when you step in it.

First time in a long time, I flew everything I packed at least once.

Flew the 450 QX once, Trex 450 once, Trex 600 E/CF once, Trex 600 E/ESP twice, and Century Radical G20 Twice. All flew well. I'm going to try flying them again tomorrow. Will try to get some video of each, but the G20 in particular.

Happy 4th of July.

I'm still out flying both my G20s...as long as the weather permits and time allows I get out there for about two hours per session...

still refining my clutch (long term testing) and still refining the CGY750 on my modded G20.

been working on inverted backwards...easy on the sim but the pucker factor is intense in real life

I hear ya on the pucker factor.

I have been hovering around with the G20 this weekend and came up with an idea to help me get it moving around in forward flight. I've not been to keen to the idea of flipping it into idle 1 or idle two, but here's my idea. I do most of my hovering and moving around at about 60 to 65% throttle. Would it be ok to set my idle 1 to about 65 to 70% and get used to that and work on forward flight with the G20. In normal mode I'm basically flying collective and throttle at the same time. When I want to move the G20 up I am also increasing the throttle. Every time the throttle changes the tail kicks a little with the increased rpm. By setting idle 1 to a comfortable speed, I could also eliminate the tail kick when I want to climb or gain altitude.

I have run into a one or two pilots that have the HS the same in both normal and idleup 1...the only difference was that on normal the collective was different at low to mid stick (for obvious reasons). From mid stick to high stick the throttle and pitch curves were the same in both modes.

now there some dangers pilots run into when they have HS for normal and idleup 1 the same...they sometimes takeoff in normal then forget to switch to idleup 1 when going into inverted flight. This results in taking off flying around then going into a loop, flip or roll and then watching the heli fall inverted without power down into the ground...only to realize that they were still in normal mode. Or in the other case go to land (while still in Idleup 1) and wonder why thier heli is suddenly crushing itself against the ground and will not stop at low stick. Worse yet for FBL setups, in rare cases result in a fast tip over.

Increasing the HS from normal to idleup 1 is a good audible "reminder" of what mode your flying in.
