Got in the maiden flights this morning. Still have a little fine tuning to do, but I'm liking it!!!
The setup and tweaking at the field is really easy with the VControl as well. Just getting used to the feel of a new radio....I've used a JR for the last 2 decades . KevinB |

After a bit more flying, I really like this heli. I started the timer at 4 minutes as I wasn't sure what to expect. I fly mostly at 2000 so I thought I would end up at around 5 minutes with 20% left in the packs. Well....my last 3 flights I had the timer up to 6 minutes, and when I threw the packs on storage charge, they took under 200mah to get there! I am guessing that even flying a little harder than I was, I'll easily get 7 minute flights which is what I use on my Nitro's. Excellent!
I am also really impressed with the VBar Control and the new v6.0 firmware. I flew my two 550se logos back to back.....one with my JR 12x and 5.34 VBar, and the other with the Control. I do prefer the feel of v6.KevinB |

Flew mine this weekend….and I like it a LOT! It really does not take much stick movement to get it moving at all, it is pretty quick with it being a super light heli.
I was flying 12s 3700s as I am still waiting on packs to arrive so I robbed them from my 600SX but I still got 4:30 Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!! |

You guys might want to look into the one-way recall...it looks like Mikado is recommending you don't fly the 690sx until they get it sorted.
That's pretty proactive of them, must give them credit for being on top of things.Team POP Secret |

Hi guys, please take note:One way bearing LOGO 690 SX
We have discovered that the one way bearing of the LOGO 690 SX does not comply with Mikado Model Helicopter’s quality standards and durability. The one way bearing can fail in flight. We are working on a solution together with the supplier. We recommend to stop flying the LOGO 690 SX until further notice.
Please send an e-mail to einkauf (at) mikado-heli (dot) de giving your contact details, so we can ship out a replacement once it is available.Kind regardsEddi |

Yes. Though disappointed I'll have to hold off flying the 690 for a bit, kudos to Mikado for being so proactive.
My first notification of the problem didn't come from reading it online.....MikadoUSA emailed me directly (and anyone else that purchased through them) about the problem early this morning, apologized for the inconvenience, and that they would be shipping the replacement part asap. Now that's customer support.KevinB |

@ kamaroman540,Your comment, "Makes me think of what Kyle was using in his 690sx-was it kit or special for his model??"Well, Kyle prototyped what Mikado sent him, which looked to be a run-of-the-mill OWB like on the Logo 600SX, except larger. Worked fine.Kyle reported (as he always does) his progress with the machine, and as usual when Mikado had everything they needed and were ready, kits were packaged and off they went.Apparently at some point Mikado discovered that what was going into the kits was not what Kyle had been using. Why that happened, I'm sure we'll never know, and Mikado has no obligation to provide us all the gory details. What we do know is that once they discovered the issue, they went public with it, and are going to make it right.(-: Dave |

I'm sorry if you thought that I was offended by the question. Not at all. It was a fair observation, especially since it is pretty common in the heli hobby industry these days to try and sell stuff by making a one-off video showing stellar performance, but the long term reality of the product is quite different.I was just offering the information that there was no intent surrounding the situation to try and promote the product through a bait-and-switch. If that was the case, Mikado wouldn't be doing the recall.A sad story: I witnessed a video being made a few years back (the names and company involved will remain anonymous), where the pilot was shown flying a machine, he landed it, the camera panned over to the pilot for a moment for some comment, and while the camera was off the heli, a second machine with different components installed was quickly switched with the one that had been flown. So, when the camera panned back to the heli on the ground and zoomed in, what the consumer saw and though had just been flown, was not the case. What can I say. It's a cut-throat business, and for some, the end game of making money is more important than how you make it )-:(-: Dave |

The replacement parts are shipping and I'm really happy with the solution. It completely encompasses the two 600 OWBs, AND it still retains the main shaft 3rd bearing/powertrain support!Great job Mikado! I can't wait to get my 690 back in the air Here are some pics of the replacement (compliments of Eddi at the Mikado support forum): KevinB |
