.
From what I understand, the preferred way to set expo using the CGY-750 is in the box and leave the Tx expo at 0% since the expo processing is more "local" to what's going on with the heli.
.
Is there a way to get Expo settings to change along with Flight Conditions inside the CGY, or do I need to set them in the Tx?
.
What is the downside to using Expo in the Tx vs. using Expo in the CGY?

I use different expo curves in the TX for each flight condition with zero ill effects in flight performance. Granted I do not use alot of TX expo with the new 1.4 firmware. But the new 1.4 just works for me with very little deviation from default values. I have added some expo in the TX (I personally like the feeling of -20% on AIL and ELEV - I use less expo in NORMAL mode for more precise hovering practice).

Where to expo
I've been advised to do the opposite in fact. I suggest leaving the expo at defaults within the CGY and adjust to your liking on the TX side of things. This way you get the feel you want per each flight condition. As i understand it, there is no resolution loss using TX expo.

Works great for me... and i'm fairly picky when setting up machines for FAI.

So you use two expos? Say -20% in the box and another -20% in the Tx?
.
Is that equal to -40% or would that be too easy?

Leave the expo in the 750 at default because it establishes a baseline of linearity in the control algorithm. Tune from there using transmitter expo, each flight condition differently if desired.
