What all do you need to change to convert a Raptor 60 to a 90? Isn't it just the tail and clutch? Any info is appreciated!

If the R60 has never been crashed hard, the fan shroud and the front radio tray will need to be changed.

The fan shroud was enlarged on the R90 to accommodate the bigger head of the .91. If you don't change it, the fins on the top of the head will rub the shroud.

And, you need longer blades. The R90 uses 690mm to 710mm blades mains and 105mm to 115mm tail blades.

The 90 also has a longer tailboom with all the associated parts to go with that to accommodate the longer blades. The clutch is heavier, as are the main metal side frames.

depending on which engine you are going to use and what age 60 you have will determine if you heed the 90 style fan cowling and servo mount
the later 60 kits had the correct cowling
if the fan duct has a removable plate then this will suit the big head 90 motors
the os91 c spec and sz will need the 90 cowl
the older 91sx (and i think the hz) will fit in the 60 cowl
i don't know on the 105

use the 90 pinion
you can use a 60 clutch, just replace it with the 90 one when it fails
use the 60 boom with 680/690 blades until you bend it and then fit the 90 boom and tt

Raptor 60
The 90 nitro stuff will be gone. I'm going to convert it to a gasser. I was mainly concerned about the tail. From what I've seen the 60 and 90's are basically the same frame correct? Looks like all the rotorhead parts are the same.

the boom and tt and boom supports are the parts you'll need for the 60/90 conversion on the tail
the 60 main frames are thinner than the 90 ones

raptor
The bolt holes and mounting points are the same between the 60 and the 90 right? If I use an aftermarket conversion kit is the frame thickness going to matter?

the only bolt hole differences are the early 60 servo tray will not fit on the later 60 and 90 fan housing
if you are not using the metal side plates in the conversion then there isn't a problem
i've used a 90 motor in the 60 side plates for years without any problems

You should be fine. The Helibug frames completely eliminate the stock ones. Also, the conversion Kit includes a new Lynx gasser clutch and heavy clutch bell with liner pre installed. You will have to drill 4 new holes in the stock landing gear to bolt it on. You're gonna love it

You should have titled this thread "60 to Gaser".
May have eliminated some of the replies that answer the question in your title (60 to 90).
