Hello fellow flyers! So, I'm looking at getting another heli and I've narrowed it down to about two serious options. Firstly, I still love my nitro's and do not want a 12S elect heli. 6S (like the Trex 550 DFC w/730mx) would be cool. But here's the thing, I've had SO many Align heli's and love them (still have 550 V2 and 600N DFC), but want that "one nice heli", like Gaui, Avant, Synergy, etc. etc. Not a big Goblin fan.

My budget is around $1200, and I'd prefer to buy new. After some research I'm really liking either the GAUI X5 OR GAUI NX4. Either one I order I will get the "BNF" combo.

Any suggestion? E5? TT E550? I'd REALLY love to hear someone who's had either the NX4 and/or the X5 and let me know "a day in the ownership", or whatever, with those. I'm sure there's other members here reading this that my benefit from what's out there now and how they are to own, etc. THANKS AND HAPPY FLYING!!!!

Logo 550 SX. Choose an ESC and go with the Scorpion/Mikado motor. I like Futaba servos in Logos because they are light with very low amp draw. Put on a Mini Vbar or Beastx and you will have a very nice heli for your price range.

Never had a Logo, but all the peeps I know that do have them love them
The synergy I can say is a helluva bird, quality is key in a great flying heli imho.
I also love nitro and will always have a nitro heli, with that said, you can find great deals on nitro now as many are going all electric, just stick with a quality machine, synergy, JR, etc..
dyecocker said it best, once you get a quality machine, you'll never go back to anything less. It just makes life easier knowing most everything will work first time everytime..

I will second the logo 550 sx or 5003d plastic frame version. I would use the kde motor 1100/1350/1200 kv

I love my Logo 550sx. The combo w/ MTR and ESC works good.

WOW, so it looks like the Logo 550SX is quite the favorite! I've never owned a Mikado heli but I'm def a VBar guy. If anyone ever has FBL issues, it's so easy to say "Just get a VBar and be done with it", I'm assuming it's the same with the Logo series?

The vbar and logo are like peanut butter and jelly.

The 550 feels light in the air but solid. The frame feels stiffer in the air than you would think plastic would.

A LOT of nice helis in that 500-550 size. Most mentioned already. Do take a look at the JR 550 2 blade and 3 blade heli combos at JRAmericas. They are both right in your price range. Good luck in your choice!

I've flown the Agile 5.5 and 7.2 and really liked them, but parts aren't as accessible as the more popular brands. Plus, I still would prefer a brand that hasn't just "now" left hobby king.

It really depends on what you're into but I have to go with the logo on this one. That way you get to try the quiet, graceful end of the spectrum.
As you already have a bunch of Trex's, you already have the LOUD, angry, high power transmission capability end covered. The Synergy would be much the same, perhaps more stout but then heavier too.

Unless you go with Nitro of course. But, since you're looking at smaller helis, I think electric is better in the small stuff.

JR NEX6 w/3 Blade Head
I have to mention this heli.. high quality throughout and smooth as silk in the air..with the 3blade head you get great "pop" and it sounds awesome...flies like a much larger machine..
The package combo is also 100% and still under your price range, and the combo includes the Tags01 stab system that you just need to try...easy set upwith no computer needed..and it comes im the combo already set up for the multi head...
Good luck with your selection, and have FUN!!'

Well, I've just purchased a Mikado Logo 550SX. It's used, I wanted new but figured I could make it own with remaining budget. UGLY red/white/brown canopy!! Ugh! That's gotta go! Still a little weary about this plastic frame, but I bought this heli 100% from the recommendations by you guys! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP! PS- that 3-blade JR does look fun, right?
