is it possible to change the bearing without destroying the tourque tube?

Unfortunately the bearing won't go over the drive pin. If you can press the pin out, it's possible to change the bearing. May have to grind the roll pins a little.

Yes you can save the TT (almost all the time) - on the Whip, remove one drive tip, lightly file the TT at the drive holes to remove burrs. If the bearing is attached with CA, tap the bearing off. If attached with Locktite, heat then tap the bearing off.

I have found it easiest to open the jaws of a bench vise just enough for the TT to slide through, rest the bearing on the vise and tap on the end of the TT using a block of wood to protect the TT. Don't pound too hard, you can bend the TT.

ok thanks. I knew I have to file down the roll pins but wasn't sure if the bearing would make it over the brass sleeve at the ends.
