Only thing that has me stumped is I had no power to the servos setting up as a "other" model, when I set it up as a mikado than adjusted items all was fine must be missing something
A friend of mine had the same issue. He went so far as to decide his vbar was ruined from the update. I came over and ran the setup wizard and it worked fine.

I think it's easy when you're doing the setup for an 'other' model to not move the selection over the label and accidentally cancel out of the wizard instead of completing it. That's my best guess for what happened to my friend at least. After I came over and did that for him once, he was able to set up two more non-Mikado models on his own without issue.

Confirmed: If you bind, then exit the wizard you will need to go to heli setup wizard again and load a blank model to continue. Otherwise you end up with missing parameters and the wizard doesn't work correctly.

flies great, still have some learning on the throttle portion

Have the motor run/idle/off on the bottom right switch with run being all the way down and idle in the center and off on the up that goes to idle when released, seems to work good except if you go to far on the switch and go to off instead of idle you have slow spool up and the bail out no longer works. I put the banks on the left top switch so everything is similar to my 11x as far as switches goes. Logo 480 flies better than ever love this thing!!!!!!!

Quick note, make sure to have a half way decent computer when setting up your vbar control. Have been going honestly crazy since I received it last week and only had one flight on it before it started acting up. One it was giving me an alarm about 15 seconds into flight and two it was not giving me talking switches even tho they showed active and were set up on the correct switches. I unloaded and loaded the software again but never noticed the chime it gives after software is loaded, so make sure you are hearing that chime from the radio after you load each app. My laptop is old very slow, and I basically only had it to bring to the field to adjust my vbar settings. Turns out it wasn't loading the apps correctly, once it was hooked up to Rons faster computer I noticed the software ran a lot smoother and tx worked properly after. Today I got some flights in on my 7 and 800. 6.0 seems to have fixed an issue with my 800 having a wobble when doing pirouettes, thought I had a cg issue but it was right on, now pirouettes in one place. Have to say I love the Tx can't wait to get some more flights in on it.

Good info Steve. I also don't get the chime every time but all apps have installed perfectly. I am using an older Mac. I am really looking forward to updating my Logo 700s to 6.0. 6 control RXs just arrived in the mail.

Q: When I plug in the control it shows "clock updating" not "clock updated" as in the video. Am I the only one that has this?

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

Flew the Vbar Control this weekend on my TDR which was the first model I wanted to give this a whirl on. Next up will be the 550SX.

I have a few questions if anyone can chime in.

1. When using the off/idle/run set up/switch - When first going into Run - the motor spools up way too fast and not sure how to soften that up. My speed controller was originally in soft start and worked fine before switching over to the Vbar control. Any ideas how to slow this down via a change in the Vbar control?

2. RPM - my governor was hunting a little, but just think thats a matter of playing with the gain. When I went inverted the headspeed would slow down slightly. Going to check all the banks to make sure all settings are uniformed while switching banks/headspeeds.

3. I'm using the Vbar control on a TDR and when I put the canopy on - the rx wires (at 90 degrees per instructions) are enclosed inside the canopy and not sure if this could create a radio interference issue.

With the canopy off - If I walked 150-200ft away from the model, my reception status would drop to 50%. But I've never had a reception indicator before, so don't know if this is normal or not. I don't assume reception would stay at 100% all the time.

Any feedback would be great.

Thank you,
Jeff

What type of speed controller? CC just works on a set RPM out and you are able to check requested throttle in GOV set up in the control. If it is a VBAR gov you will have to reset the parameters and gearing info.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

Question #1
In the governor setup page there is a "Runup Limit"
adjustment. If you lower the number it will slow down the spool up. The range is 2 to 6 I think. With 6 being faster and 2 being slower.

The higher the number the faster it will spool.

I got this from Rainier, works great!!!
Please teach the ESC with -80 / +100
Therefore set motor off and idle to -80
Stay in the throttle panel (so that the ESC signal is driven by collective and available at the ESC socket), try to learn the esc there.
If there is a procedure in the esc like "turn on RX with full throttle" - keep the VBar powered up, just disconnect the ESC and connect with full throttle ;-)
After this set motor off and idle to -100...

Thanks Ron! ( and Rainier )

That worked for me too. Only thing, I found with my YGE that -80 produced a delay between flipping the motor switch and the rotors starting to turn. I used the same process, but with -90 on the low endpoint, and that worked perfect.

Do you have simple instructions for Kosmik set up? I would like 60,70,80 percent throttle curves.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

question regarding the RPM headspeed gov. app.
I installed and activated on the vbar control, but the headspeed readout does not show up visible on the radio when flying.

If anyone knows what I may be doing wrong, please advise.

First, go into the Castle Link and get the latest software version. Then disconnect the RX wire from the Vbar and plug it into the Castle link. Check the software and firmware version and if necessary, update the firmware.

Then go to the throttle tab and select external gov. The software will now default to fixed endpoints. Do the other tabs and set up each one as appropriate. Don't forget to hit the update button in the lower right, so that the ESC is actually updated. Now disconnect the main power and unplug the ESC from the Castle link and plug it back into your Vbar.

Now go to the Governor setup wizard in your V control. On the line that has the high and low limits highlight the high end value, set the number to 40 and place your throttle stick in the high position. Now plug in the main power for the ESC and after it finishes counting your cells, slowly increase the high limit on the TX until you hear the tones from the ESC, and then add two more points to the value that generated the tones.

Bring the throttle stick to low, set 40 on the TX value and increase that value until you get the arming tones and add two more points to that value. Actually, you should set the 40 value on each side before you plug in your main pack. At this point if you set your motor switch to run you should get motor startup. Now just go into the set speed tab and enter your desired head speed for each bank. There is no longer any normal mode where you can use your throttle stick to stop the motor. The only switch that can stop the motor is the motor switch. It takes a little getting used to for calling it something besides a hold switch.

Hope this helps.

Can someone correlate the throttle requested in the VBAR control to a DX9?
I am setting up a Jive and the heli just does not seem as fast as it used to be. The heli flies on -20 and 20. What number will give 80 90 100 percent ect?

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.
