Funny thing, I checked the Align site tonight and saw that 3GX software Ver5.0 was available and it only had 34 downloads as opposed to 44112 for Ver4.0.

Is this something we need/want?

I updated my computer to 5.0 and flashed the 3GX with the 5.0 firmware. I hope it is something good.

So far good initial field reports. I'll install it on my Trex-500 soon then try it on my Trex-800

Love it. V5.0 is good. Tail problems are a thing of the past.

Set your rudder linkage for zero yaw at hover in normal mode, the rest just works.

The feel in the air is natural and connected. No robotic feel, no bounce in any axis. Stops are clean and crisp.

I flew it in a 450 Pro V2, 500 DFC, 600 Nitro Pro, and 700N this afternoon. NO problems, no trouble, no bad behavior.

And yes, I did find after installation, all my setup remained intact.
Ver5.0 was available and it only had 34 downloads as opposed to 44112 for Ver4.0.
V4.0 has been out for about 9 months. V5.0 a couple of days. What would you expect?

Well worth the download and update.

OH -- and V5.0 now supports JR DMSS satellites, as well as JR/Spektrum DSM2 and DSMx satellites.

Did my first flight with the 5.0 today on my 550DFC PRO. I did not do a reset. At the start the rudder direction was reversed and there was no elevator or aileron control.

I performed a complete setup in all modes and everything seems to work fine. I only hovered ant did some pitch checks in the yard.

I have a little tail drift in normal prior that seems to be less now.

I have a 450DFC PRO that got the same upgrade and will fly soon. I have not reset this one yet, so I will know if the reset was required because of something I did.

Strange how some need a reset some don't , may be they changed some thing in them in early and later models .
Safest thing is def to go a reset but think I'm too lazy lol

Once you have the mechanical setup out of the way (DIR mode with the gyro bypassed) you don't have to do that again as you haven't messed with the radio or links.

Just run through the simple setup steps - movement, gyro, and throttle/pitch calibration. It takes about 5 minutes and is so easy a caveman can do it.
