Hello,

I got my Blade 300 CFX today and decided to play it safe and disconnect the wires between the ESC and the motor until I get the radio
bound and setup to get the swash plate moving correctly. I was surprised to see the following connections between the ESC and the motor

BLUE to BLUE
RED to BLACK
Black to RED

I thought it was supposed to be

BLUE to BLUE
RED to RED
BLACK to BLACK

So, should I call Horizon Hobby and ask them about this before I
try to fly this copter?

Regards, Dave

Thats the same as both of mine. Reverses motor direction but that combination is correct on the 300 CFX.

I'd just run it up without any blades (main or tail) and make sure it is turning in the right direction. If not, just change any 2 motor leads around.

With heli's that have a one-way bearing this is no big deal because if it spins the wrong way around the one-way does not engage so the blades will not spin. On the 300x and 300cfx there is no one-way bearing so it will spin in either direction.

That's why it's important to remove all blades before doing a test run-up imho. Personally, I do this initial run-up without any blades on all my heli's whether they have a one-way or not.

Cheers,
TomC

Color of the wires doesn't matter. Connect all 3 and it'll spin one way or the other. IF it spins the wrong way, reverse any two wires, and i'll go the other way.

Thanks for getting back to me
Hello, thanks for getting back to me about the wires between the motor and the esc. I hooked them up the way the copter came from the factory. The copter flies, but it is tail heavy.

Regards, Dave

Seems like others also have tail heavy 300 CFX copters
Hello,

I will spend some time to see how much difference there is between the weight of the batteries from different manufacturers. Stay tuned for further details.
