Thoughts and prayers, especially because his wife was witness to the tragic accident. Another sad but real reminder. Take heed my friends, knowing we take a real risk with these models.

Damn that's terrible. I was hoping not to hear of this type of tragedy. My prayers and thoughts also go out to his friends and family.

It IS terrible. One lesson we all should take away from this, though, is that it doesn't have to be a 700 or 800 sized monster for this to happen. We need to respect, IMHO, all sized helis, and in particular, anything bigger than a 450 or 500 size can cause fatal injuries.

very sad to hear. every time I go up i tell myself to keep heli far out enough so if something should fail and go wrong theres a better chance that no one gets injured or even worse dies..

I feel bad for his family. He lived through the army, and died by the hobby. But on the other hand, he died doing what he loved.
