Well, I updated my BeastX today (ar7200bx). It's on my Trex 600N DFC with OS .50 Hyper. After updating, putting DX9 Aux 3 to gov, installing MULTIPLE sensors (Spektrum backplate, Align and CYB sensors) IT DOES NOT WORK!! I set it up according to manual, got the solid purple light while switching FModes (where I also put the gov channel), but when I fly the model.... NOTHING! I can't get it to read the sensor, while I spin the fan/crankshaft the light on the FBL doesn't EVER turn off.

PLEASE HELP GUYS!! LOL

As long as the sensor on the engine does not detect the movement, then the governor cannot work. You must get the light to blink when the motor is turned over by hand.

Try moving the sensor closer to the backplate.

Are you saying you tried three different sensors or do you have all three hooked up at the same time. I'm a little confused with that.

Just use the spectrum sensor and follow the instructions for it.

And, where did you get the Spektrum sensor? Did you buy one with the servo plug on it, or did you get one with the telemetry plug and convert it? The Spektrum backplate sensor has to go directly into the AR7200BX.

A little more info would help.

Sorry, lol. Yes I tried three separate sensors. I have the Spektrum sensor for telemetry and converted it. Right now I have the Align sensor installed hovering over the fan magnet. I've tried raising/lowering it but it still doesn't seem to change while spinning fan by hand.
THANK YOU for your response, hopefully I can figure this out with a little bit of help. I started using RR over other forums because everyone on here is nice and seems to actually wanna help, so I have high hopes here!! Lol

In my opinion the above would be the primary source of any possible failure. Either the wires are not assigned properly in the plug, or one of the connections is just not making it.

I hope this helps because this is how I did mine at it works like a charm.

Hmmmm.. thank you. I am positive I have soldered it correctly (I used to solder for a company). A rep at Horizon told me they've had success with the Align sensor, but again... another swing and a miss on my end.

Here's a link of the maiden flight, about 3 min in you can here it bog badly, until then it actually seemed like the gov was working.

You must have a red light blink on every revolution of the engine in Menu B Setup or you do not have a REV-COUNTER. This must be true no matter which sensor you use. I still suspect that your wiring is faulty unless the sensor somehow lost it's magnetism.

Here is a picture of my Spektrum sensor plug. The wire rotation is as follows: As the plug is inserted into AUX3 on the AR7200BX, Dark Brown is on the bottom, Red is in the middle, and Yellow is on top.

No Red Light blink in Menu B, no governor. It's that simple.

Once you have a blinking RED Light, we can discuss any other setup issue.

RE: Align Sensor, never gave me that warm fuzzy feeling that it was working properly. That's why I was so glad to get the AR7200BX upgrade installed using a real crank sensor.

AR7200BX Beast X Governor and Sensor Input
I've just updated two of my AR7200BX.
The first one is in a model (Hirobo Turbulence D3) with a back-plate sensor. During the sensor test, the status light is off, followed by a red status light on when the crank passes the sensor.

On another model (Synergy N5c) using an Align fan sensor, the status light is On (red), then turns off when the magnet passes the sensor.

Either way, the AR7200BX is detecting a "tripping" of the sensor.

Anyone else find the same behavior and was it a problem?

In the Align sensor application the magnets are not in the sensor. With the Spektrun the magnet is in the sensor. That accounts for the difference in logic I guess.

As far as operation is concerned you will just have to try it. It should not make any difference because in either case you are counting revs.

The governor sounded like it was working in the video. The motor doesn't sound to be revving much so that could account for the bogging, try upping the head speed to around 2100-2150 to keep the motor in it's powerband.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Align Governor Sensor and AR7200BX
Flew my Synergy N5c successfully with the Align sensor - as I mentioned earlier, this sensor shows a continuous Red status light that flashes OFF versus the backplate sensor that is OFF and flashes red - when the magnet/crank passes the sensor.

The nitro governor worked great - just as well as my CY ATG governor that I was able to remove.

I'm very pleased with this governor update from Spektrum.

Thanks for coming back with that update. Now we know it works and reverse logic doesn't hurt anything.
