I have tried many different ones but end up always going back to the HC/BD on my gassers. Just like electric or Nitro, the FBL unit has to "feel" right for your type of flying. Many people are successful with different brands.

Vortex #1, it uses motion sensors, witnessed myself how vibe proof it is, more so than CGY and VBar.

Don't forget SK540, even with a 120 at it and it never coughed with just one thin piece of tape.

I test flew a SK540 on someones gasser and it acted very strangle. Not sure if it was the FBL unit or his setup.

So the Vortex is not effective by vibration at all? I think I have to give that a try

To a degree, don't try and use two different sets of blades or/and a bent main shaft on a 90, I suppose that wont work well with the unit.

For what it's worth, I only know of 2 units that use the latest ring type sensors specifically designed to handle vibrations. The vbar full size silverline and the Skookum sk720BE.
The Skookum sk540 uses older tech sensors but has 2 on each axis for noise cancellation as I understand it. Clever I think, and seems to work pretty well. I've run all 3 on big block Nitros and my turbine (which generates very high frequencies) and never seen a vibe issue.
Never ran a gasser though, I understand their the REAL test.

Not the beast
I'm not sure about some of the responses on here. I'd recommend you go dig through some of the threads. Any time your swapping out tape, it's to isolate vibration issues.

Now if your hard mounting the gyro, it's probably a little more vibration resistent than the one using special tape.

Just saying, reading this thread you'd think they were all hard mounted, and that's just not the case.

Yeah not the MicroBeast for sure, but it did get better with the newest firmware, the 2.0 was just horrific!

Vortex hard mounted with 1-2mm tape works great for me.
