I`m about to test a BeastX on my Trex 600N but now I hesitate since I have read so many stories about tipping nitro helis using BeastX. Isn`t Beast any good on nitros?

What I have found out is that most people only use one layer of thin tape in order to have the uit as tight as possible to the heli. Many people also strap it down with a zip tie but is this really possible when mounting it on the gyro plate on the Rex 600N?

Thanks

PS. I use Beast on my Trex 550E with only one very thin layer of sticky tape and it works fine.

You have the wrong info,I have the Beast x on my X50 nitro, runs just as good as my other FBL units,if you set it up wrong it will have bad side effects, the reason it likes the thin hard tape is to prevent any drifting, which I did experience with the thick soft tape.

The Beast X works great with nitro machines big and small. No zip tie required. Just one layer of 3M tape will work just fine.

I have not heard anything bad about this combination.

My beef against the Beast (or the AR7200BX) was that it did not have a gov. But, I guess it does now with the SW upgrade.

"Trex 600N and BeastX - bad combination?"

No!

That should be a great combination. BeastX works well with nitro machines.

I could not say if one layer of 3M 411 tape is enough. I have always used two layers and I will not change just to experiment. If others say one layer works, then it must provided everything else is the same as their setup. Some of the things that could account for differences would be anything that would cause vibration in the machine.

Just some update:

I just put the BeastX unit on one layer of firm (really cheap)tape and it flies great. The heli is superstable and I like it much better then the ZYX I used last year

Thanks for all help guys!

You made the right choice. People with drift/tipping over issues either use thick wobbly tape or the heli has excessive high frequency vibes or both.

I've had bad drifting issues with a Vbar after taking everyones advice and soft mounting it, Milton mod etc. etc. as soon as I used one layer of thin 3M VHB all problems solved. I've never had one issue in the 4 years ive used BeastX! Don't believe everything you read on forums, BeastX is one of the better gyros at handling vibes. The majority of issues were from people using the supplied thick foam pad, which I blieve they have now changed and also include a thin 3M pad, USE THE THIN PAD!

60% of the time, it works every time!

BeastX and other FBL units
Are vibration sensitive. It has nothing to do with the helicopter. The 3M tape mentioned above works wonders.

Want vibration problems?? Fly a 30cc Gasser with a blasting Magneto surrounded by a electrically conductive carbon frame!
Both of my gassers a 26cc and 29cc bored engines run one layer of 3M tape. NO ZIP TIES!! Remember a 15cc is the same as a 90 nitro so these engines are all but twice the size of a 90. If it doesn't work the heli is at fault ,,,vibrations,,
either caused by imbalance ,,or tuning. If I can get my gassers smooth then a nitro is easily possible. For info my gyro is a futaba 520 on my flybar Miniature Aircraft 1005 made in 1995,,the other is a 29cc Miniature Aircraft Spectra running a FBLs Bavarian Demon 3sx. If it is a inherent problem with your gyro unit to be vibration sensitive I would get something else or fix the heli or both,,many fbls units come with a mounting pad way too soft,, as well as my Bavarian Demon .

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
