Sorry but I have had a real set of trial's with Champion's - Hard lesson's - No crashes though. 3 time's on the Bird's - then once in a pressure washer with New Honda and once on a Saw. All resistor plug's.

Seems when mine got hot from being worked the Resistance would either open up or break down and then the motor would quit.

Then when all cool's down it's good as New until you run on a extended load or work it for awhile - standard duty cycle - then it repeats.

I truly / truly go out of my way to Purchase American .

It finally got me bonkers in complete defeat as I could not figure it out - Thought is was a condenser or coil failure' but knew it was not.
Every thing always tested Good !

Went to a close friend on a SaTURDAY TO DEMO the symptom { He is a Engine Whole sale Distributor - } Saturday's is the coffee clutch crowd kinda off hour's Fun - stuff.

With out a word - handed me his doughnut - Took the Plug and thru it out into the parking lot - Real Deal . Then showed me a whole box out of string trimmers and blowers - Plug's

It was pretty funny as the the guy's on the stool's went nut's.

Champion is not what they used too be - My Experience only -

Maybe they got their Q C. back under control

Did you check the gaps on any of the bad plugs to see if there was any consistencies in the plug gap? I have never had a bad Champion plug either,,, in a gasser or car. Maybe there were good plugs with bad gaps from the factory. Supercharged or turbo cars running high boost for example with a normal plug gap will miss fire under boost as the pressure increases resistance in the gap to fire . Many times they miss fire as they cannot fire through the gap. I have seen this many times. You must check the gap.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

I have never seen a problem myself with my gasser heli's but I do check them. I gap them abit tight as they wear the gap will not get too wide. Used a few brands and they all seem fine.
I just don't understand Grey's plug problems. I'm not saying they didn't happen. Could have been a bad run or a huge gap from the factory.

Just for my own personal knowledge Turbo : No Ill will what so ever :

Just Educational Knowledge ?

Will you Please Expand on this relationship ??

Of Electrical High Voltage Resistance / Temperature of the resistance mineral element in the plug body / and Cylinder Pressure ??

These relationship's ??
high boost for example with a normal plug gap will "miss fire under boost" as the "pressure increases resistance in the gap to fire"

Many times they "miss fire as they cannot fire through the gap".
I don't get it ??

Ooh, agreed; without a stronger ignition system, a larger gap in a forced induction setup allows the potential for a flameout. Even then, not recommended.
Gapping larger for super/turbocharging is old school.

Wonderful engine post ! Wish we had Turbo's - Only blower's we had came from City buses ! Then you had to go buy the Manifold and Hope some one knew how to set the gate valves -or knew what springs too use before you blew up two week's of your payroll !

Heck : Wish we still had Cubic Inches and real GASOLINE !
OLD SCHOOL

Even on 4 cylinder's with dual point's - we'd float em !!

67 Mustang: as promised I'll pull a data card and give you some numbers so you can draw a couple of Vertical lines and see data Unit Point's on T.C. and P.C. - Then you can look at your graph's For the handshake

Boy you guy's sure missed a lot of FUN ! Degree Wheels - The WILD STUFF !

!st Joe Hunt Magneto cost over $300.00 !!!!

Champion sucked in the 80's. Working in small engine repair, non-resistor - 1 in 50 plugs would not fire. We used 1000's of plugs so this was not a one time thing. Switched brands and no more problems. I thought they may be better now.

NGK has been the go to in small engines and motorcycles for 40+ years, never had a bad one. That's good enough for me.

Still use degree wheels to check two stroke port timing

I have heard the reports before about Champion plugs,, I just never experienced them personally. I have seen and experienced plug gaps being to wide for a turbo setup running 25psi+ boost and resulting missfire.
