Help with Setup on Phoenix RC Simulator
I am very new. I bought the Phoenix RC Simulator and want to set it up to fly quadcopters, but I do not have enough knowledge to answer the questions during setup. Example, I don't think I need an aileron to fly a quadcopter.
Can someone tell me what the settings should be to fly the quadcopter? The simulator came with the DX5e transmitter.

Thank you,
Mike E.

I think if you set it up to fly a heli, it will fly anything.Bill Whittaker

Aileron is the roll axis. (Left/Right).

Elevator is the pitch axis ("nose" up/down).

Rudder is the yaw axis ("nose" left/right).

Collective pitch makes you go UP/DOWN, is slaved to the Throttle.

Your quad copter has these functions.

Essentially, Phoenix wants to see a simple setup.

Forward on the elevator is nose down. Left aileron, tilts left side down. Left rudder, the nose turns left. Low throttle, motor stops, you slow down and descend. Full throttle, motor goes wide open, you speed up and may climb.

There is no special "quad copter" setup.

Help with Setup on Phoenix RX Simulator
OK. Got it, but now...which side of the controller should the rudder toggle be on? The Left side or the right side? When I am using the simulator to fl a quadcopter, my rudder control is on the right, but when I am using "training mode" my rudder is on the left side. Did I set something up wrong?
Thanks,
Mike

What is "training mode"?

Do you actually own a quadcopter? If you DO -- does it have a separate roll (aileron) function and a separate yaw (rudder) function?

If so, what stick or sticks do you use on the "real" thing?

Ideally your sim will act the same way as your transmitter when you fly the real thing.

The most commonly transmitter arrangement used in the US(and unless you specify something different, what you'll probably end up buying from just about any hobby shop around):

Your DX5e shipped as shown above.

The next most commonly transmitter arrangement used in the US (you usually have to go out of your way to buy this arrangement):

-----

Just to make sure you understand pitch, roll, and yaw ---

A bit late on this one but just now setting up my phoenix sim on a new cpu after some years of not using it.
What i ran into with functions being on the wrong stick was even after calibrating the radio to the sim i still had to create my own radio profile and assign the input functions i wanted on each stick.
Might have been in a tab called "my controls"
Im at work now so cant say for sure.
Yes i know this company is out of business, just making a note that may help me in a couple years, lol.
This is like my own EAM system for helis.
