Big Chargers and Car Batteries
So, I'm college educated, understand basic electricity pretty well (V=I-Something, don't let the smoke out, etc.) haha...

So I'm spooling up to support field charging of 6S 5Ah packs for my new 700 and am pretty much settled on getting one of the dual port iChargers. I am pretty sure I can pick out a good P/S for fields with AC. No sweat.

My remaining question has to do with using my car's battery when I'm somewhere without AC.

Can anyone provide some guidance as to how many times I safely charge those big packs off a typical mid-size car battery?

Also, the iChargers, and others, have this intriguing Regenerative Discharge feature that claims to dump the battery's remaining charge back into the source allowing much faster storage charge completion as well as, if I'm reading this correctly, replacing some of the power extracted. Will this work safely or would I need to isolate the car battery from the car's electrical system to prevent damaging something?

Take a look a the Deep Cycle battery FAQ. It will answer most, if not all of your questions.

Grasshopper, when you have destroyed enough automotive batteries to equal the price of a Honda generator, you will have completed the path to total enlightenment. .

Don't forget the possibility of a new alternator or two, to keep those batteries charged.

Haha. Yeah I get it. I broke two rules:

1) I should have searched before posting the questions, and 2) always trust your common sense.

Thanks.
