Yea don't fly on wifi ?? Yup a phone wifi tx is like .010 millawatt out put at least our tx have a 100 mwatt tx and yea if you plan on Fpv a half mile away with tree and high power lines and a vid tx on ur set up I would be looking into a UHF tx mod 1 mile distance on2.4ghz add in the down link so that will cut ur 2.4 to a half mile LoS add in trees hope u have GPS n homing ability engaged on your fail safe think if I get a Fpv machine I will save my 8103 n get the UHF I do want the new jr 8 but I ll keep it for LoS flying, really want telemetry Trex600n,Trex500,MR25,MikadoLoGo5003d/KDE,Goblin 380XNova,CastleCreations,Ys,JR XG8,Tags Mini XBus Dmss//FAA# FA3NYC9TAP

Don't fly using wifi? So everyone who is using 2.4ghz and spektrum radios should immediately be grounded?? Haha ok.
2.4 spektrum and RC Tx Rx bands are not WiFi

WiFi is WiFi and designed for use where data can be interupted without causing a problem.

To use it for real time application to control something mission critical will assure you need a very stable auto system to maintain flight while control signal is lost.
But such a system in an industrial grade package would put it out of the reach of hobbyists.
What you have now an a hobby grade auto system that is not stable and in constant review and upgrade with a hope it might be one day.
Sh!t happens. Its part of the hobby.
Yes it does, and if drones keep flying away un controlled and turning into a lawn darts and it results in injuries to the public then sh*t will happen in the form of intervention by one of many levels of Govt that could end not just drone use but model aircraft flying period.

Local Govts already have laws stopping flying in local parks in many countries and can easily expand that to the whole Munucipality or County by stroke of pen.

The rep body for Model Aircraft will need to lobby them to get exclusions for control flying club fields.
But if they are spooked by liability paranoa that might not happen so the end result is anyone flying model aircraft may face the chances they wont be able to fly anymore due to drones on WiFi killing it for everyone.

So my advice is you better adjust your attitiude about this lost aircraft issue and deal with it before law makers and the public do it for you.

Yep - I think the majority of it is the newbs, not equipment failure...

People buying these things have NO IDEA how to fly them without auto pilot and other computer assists... Then something happens and they can't rely on the GPS or Autopilot and they lose the thing..

My advice to everyone starting is to FORGET that it has any autopilots or assists and *LEARN HOW TO FLY* the thing first..

That's the only thing that irks me about all these multirotors... ANYONE can pick it up in auto-level or auto-pilot mode and think they're a professional RC pilot. Then when the shti hits the fan they're like "DERRRRP" and there goes $700.

Learn to fly it first!!!!
