So is my Whiplash now pretty much worthless?
I just saw that Miniature Aircraft has closed up shop. I have a brand new never flown Whippy nitro that was the heli I was going as a project. Sold off my electric project. Is this heli now worthless if I try and get rid of it so I can get something with actual parts support? Maybe I'll end up following the masses and selling off all of this new nitro gear and getting a Goblin or X7. Damn! Have a brand spanking new OS105 in it

Yup, Its worthless, but you can ship it to me, I will take care of it for you!

No Its not worthless, Fly it and if you crash it just put up a post of the parts you need and I'm sure someone will have them.

I was thinking the same, are my MA helis worthless? I'm going to keep them and fly them. If I crash I'll see what parts I can get. I'm sure there has to be parts out there somewhere. I hope a company offers frames and etc for them in the near future.

not unless they buy the rights first...otherwise they have to design "similar" parts that will work...but cannot be copies is my guess.

maybe KDE will jump in...they make alot of stuff for Align helis...
showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

I'm not giving mine up!

I picked up a used air frame and bought extra gears and shafts.

They'll need to pry my Whiplash from my cold dead hands!

My Whip E is still in my rotation and the nitro is on the shelf as a parts machine for the E. So I have 1 spare for a lot of the parts on the E, tho not for the different parts in the fuse etc.

I think I'll get more money's worth out of them flying the electric until its death than trying to sell it all, even parting it out.

After the inevitable crash that breaks something unavailable, tho, I'll probably part out whatever's left...

I asked them. Market is not big enough to make it profitable for them to tool up and make parts - so they area no-go.

Yes, same approach for me... Fly my 3 MA birds as long as I can, and resell for parts when I have to...Team Mikado, Team Revolectrix, KBDD Team Pilot

I think you should fly and enjoy it. If you try to sell it you will have to take it a significant loss. You wil probably be able to find parts when needed if you look closely. I plan on keeping my 2 Whiplash gassers alive for a very long time.Don't abandon the joy of owning and flying a Whiplash. You're almost there!

Does anyone have the helical main gear for sale? I am interested in buying one. I have the standard gearset on my original Whiplash which I converted to helical. I would be willing to trade or sell the standard if someone needs it. Unless I can't get the helical one then I will convert it back to extend the life...
