Best 700 for the money
Looking to get back flying 700size , but would like to keep it under $1400.00. This would be electric.
What's the best deal out there? Would be 3D flying mainly with more technical then smack.

Thanks

Luis
I swear never to try that trick again! What the hell is only money!

My vote for Thunder Tiger E700. Nothing else can come close, especially if you factored in how well it flies.

Herringbone main gear
Bevel tail gears
Two piece frame.
Parts are extremely cheaper than the competition, but you wont need them because of the beefy drive train design.

I would say align. i got rid of mine and got a goblin. really debating going back or to a mikado. they both are so much lower parts count and cheaper to fix if u wreck.

I love my Raptor E700, but I wouldn't go THAT far on the beefy design thing.

Its power train is not immune. The best thing about its cost-to-own is a very excellent crash kit that seems to contain about everything I destroy, outside of large gears.

It's definitely a cool heli, though, but I think a mainstream TRex 700 is probably a better value proposition. Haven't run the numbers, though.
oops, bounced it!

TT E700. Great value for money. Light and well thought out design,Parts fit is spot on, battery tray loads in easy and parts are cheap. Tracks really well in flight and control response is linear.

Only let down is the narrow frame so it limits your motor choice but the Kontronik pyro 700, Scorpion 4035 or of course the Scorpion 4235 Nick Maxwell motor will all fit.

Cheers

Besides choosing a heli which suit your personal needs, it would be wise to check your LHS for availability of those parts.

There are some great used helis out there. As always buy beware but Goblins, Raves and Synergy are going for $400-500. Scorpion 4525 $200 VBAR $200 with pro. That leaves speed controller and servos $500. Aligns always peak my intrest with there value, but I would rather have one of these helis.I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

Objectively speaking, Align would be your best option. While other helis are great, Align is usually cheapest and most well rounded. They fly great, easily assemble, and spare parts are literally everywhere.

Plus, with you trying to stay under $1400, Align will get you the closest since they have a million different combos and kit variations. You might be selling yourself short though. If you plan to do 3D and technical flying, you don't want a bunch of budget junk in your machine. I'd say, more like $1800-$2000 will get you where you want to be.

But, with some new stuff releasing this year from other MFGs, you might also be able to grab a good deal on a second hand heli as people try to offset the purchase costs of these new kits. You might want to wait and see how that goes too.

I would agree that an Align TRex 700 Super Combo (w/o 3GX) is a great way to go. V2 or DFC are both great options. New or Lightly used.Team Mikado, Team Revolectrix, KBDD Team Pilot

Can it be any more predictable than this combo?

I noticed everyone selling this combo soon after they buy it.
As long as Bert pushes it, buy it, LOL!

No hard feelings dude, I'm just saying!

TSA 700E and TT E700, can't go wrong.

Best for the money is what you can afford to throw away. As with any heli, if it goes in hard, it could be a re-kit. Not trying to discourage you, just trying to be realistic.MikadoUSA

The Goblin is not for everyone for sure but some guys love them for the looks and the ability to run crazy head speed. The Synergy would be be the more standard pod and boom configuration. I prefer the design, quality and robustness of a Synergy over Align. I watch the classifieds like a hawk and there are some deals to be had right now. I just wanted to point out the used heli option.I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

I think you mean EPIC-MD 700/800, it looks like a real heli for the price.

The Goblin 700 (non comp) is a good deal right now at Helidirect.

$720 with main and tail blades. Take off the value of the blades and the kit would be about $580. Not bad.
Maybe you'd better lie down, eh? Why don't you just lie down until rigor mortis sets in?

From my experience and many others that I know, cheap combo helis(Align)will always crash themselves 8/10 before you do if you fly 3D or Smack. You will end up spending MUCH more if go with a cheap brand Heli(Align). My two cents.
