Nice save Raja!! I remember starting up my 1005 years ago and flying about and landed and then realized I had never turned the switch on,,,so no battery. The Jewel generator powered the whole flight and I had no idea.....

RAPTORNOOB we have all crashed and have been where you are right now. I know I have. You must see this through in my mind and as I did and many others here ... Poop happens.
Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

all that went thru my head is nitro motor.......plug muffler....and stop motor.......not good idea....gassmotors can run with little exhaust....OUCH!!! i got both hands...

Hey listen, it always works perfect for a hot start as the muffler is cold, but we both learned it never works to stop the engine after the flight, only before...!

You do not need this are any of the similar gizmos sold by Smart Fly, Duralight, Fromeco, etc and others if you just want to run dual batteries for redundancy. I used to run dual batts in my giant planks, so long as they are the same voltage just 2 batts through 2 switches into the RX. Simple and idiot proof. The more gizmos you add the more that can fail.

If you want to run a big main battery with a backer another good cheap solution is the Scorpion Backup guard.

Another note - for securing servo lead connections I use and like these clips:

These last couple incidents also remind me why I wish there was a good way we could rig up a failsafe remote ignition kill on a magneto Zenoah. On my EI gasser airplane I use a smart fly optical kill on a spare channel. Its an electronic switch that is normally off with no power so if the battery failed in flight the engine shuts off instantly.

On my radio failsafe setup I program the ignition kill to stay ON and set throttle to idle so if I have a glitch and signal recovers I get power back for a safe landing.

We use them in boats. Shuts done either by loss of signal. low battery or 3rd channel.

Ok just wanted to make sure bc won't the engine intake the air from the primer ? I'm not a gasser guy but thought I remember reading about that being a problem sorry about ur hk to dean connector we all try thing that eventually don't end up working right on the Heli but lesson learned hope fully prevent sum one else from making the same one keep at it just get every thing balanced as best u can on the bench and definatly run a dual batt set up on the Rx these bigg blade really tax the servos n redundancy is bestTrex600n,Trex500,MR25,MikadoLoGo5003d/KDE,Goblin 380XNova,CastleCreations,Ys,JR XG8,Tags Mini XBus Dmss//FAA# FA3NYC9TAP

the WT257 is a good carb, but no priming bulb, and no choke,, what makes it good is the high and low needles do not bleed off each other, meaning if you lean the low needle it does not change the high needle (like some carbs do).

but please ask Bill what he will recommend for your engine, Bill has tested many carbs on the Century helis, he knows, be sure to tell him your flying style, what your Engine is (Modified or not), Muffler, Gear Ratio and size of Blades

the WT257) if your use an Air Filter on the 257 without the Bulb and Choke you will have to learn a new starting technic, so you may want a different carb than the 257, ask Bill he will set you straight

+1 one on the 257. Mine runs alot better than the 643. I left the carb air filter cover on it and with the choke it takes an extra couple pulls to get the fuel moving but it runs allot smoother. Century Hawk Sport, OS .32, Futaba 7C, GY-601 9251

i guess a onboard generator would have saved that...
.
I had a gasser that had the 'lil jewel' generator on it. One day when I landed and shut the engine down suddenly I noticed I had no servo control. The battery had disconnected during flight, but as long as the engine was running, no problem. Of course if I ran out of gas or had any engine shut down during flight, well gravity would have taken over.
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?
