Advice on the Nano CP X
I was looking at getting one of these to play around with here in Afghanistan. I did see some upgrades on horizon some were instock others were back ordered. I like to do some 3D are there any recommended upgrades for basic 3D stuff? Im not looking to have something im fighting all the time like I did with my align 250, never could get the dang tail to work right. Also does the blinged out aluminum frame/head add weight? I normally dont go for the bling but its pretty cheap so I figured I would ask. Keep in mind I prefer the longest flights possible and im not a extremem level 3D yet just inverted hovers ugly tic tocs, loops/rolls and some backwards flight.
Thanks Fly Army!

mine is totally blinged out. I should've left it stock. Buy spare motors instead, as the stockers don't last long.

I have a Nano and I love it. I added a new tail boom and new skids and now it flies like a pig. It does fly but it is not as nimble as it was. Be careful when buying any upgrades because it really doesn't handle the extra weight too well.

no issues here on the tail, but I don't have a ton of time on mine. But, enough time where the main needs replacing... a known weak spot.

I haven't had any tail motor issues. The main motor lasts me about a month which for me is about 6 hours straight flying time. This last motor has lasted for a few months now because I let the heli cool down for a bit before flying again. I'm not sure if that has helped....

The Nano CP X is great--it's the reason I've gotten back into helis. I recommend getting like 6 of the microheli 200mah 30C batteries if they will ship to you out there. Same weight as the Horizon 150mah 45C batteries but you'll have a more peppy helicopter throughout the flight. Also, I second the comment about forgetting the mods, but buy a bunch of spare motors. Be very good about hitting throttle hold in a crash--if you put current through the motor while it can't turn freely it will kill the tiny little brushes quickly and it's time for a new motor (which you can replace in about 30 seconds). I also like the Horizon USB chargers. Simple to use if you have a lot of USB ports around, cheap, and take up very little space.

The only bling I've tried is the microheli swash (was hoping for less play than the original but it's really about the same as far as I can tell) and the Horizon brushless upgrade, which just made the heli a little screaming wasp that was heavier and didn't really fly better. This helicopter is not about max precision or massive power and I don't think any of the available mods will go far to change that.

Most often broken parts: Hidden tailboom cracks that weaken tail rigidity over time, and cracked canopies (repair with scotch tape). It is incredibly durable. I have crashed probably 200 times and still haven't bent a spindle.

Most fun for the money.
Get one...everything to fly will fit in your transmitter case. Including spare parts. I fly mine everyday and love it more each day.

My blade
After wrecking this heli everyday for months, I broke the swash. Bought a new one, and broke a receptacle off the board for the motor. SO......rekit. Got one on the way.
