Kit received on 04-24-14
I received my kit yesterday (04-24). I purchased the head with the traditional arms. I jumped on the pre order list mid November. I thought I would have a longer wait since I jumped on the list so late but I guess Avant is pumping them out. All have is servos at the moment for the kit. Now that I have it in hand I can start looking at other components for the bird plus this gives me incentive to get my Logo 700 XXX off the table and get a maiden flight on it.

Probably going to go with V-Bar, X nova motor, and Jeti 130 ESC (wish they would come out with a 160 HV). I wanted to try the Helix blades but does not seem they are available for purchase yet. I guess I will have to decide between Rails, Edges, Rotor Techs, MS Rapids, and SABs.

If I received mine and I did not jump on the list until mid November that means there are lot of kits that have been received and are being built in secret or the pre order list was small. Who knows. I choose to believe there is a lot of secret building going on. Guys like Rockohaulic hiding in their low light basement, measuring each piece with his calipers looking for a flaw in the perfection Avant claims and then going to his own private area 51 proving ground and thrashing the bird daring it to cave to the abuse he is putting it through. Hey Rock I am just joking around, it has gotten a bit quiet in here.

There was a whole lot more action going on in here before the release. Now that it has been released it has gotten quiet as a church mouse. Just looking forward to hearing about some set ups but maybe everyone is in the building phase.

I hope to get mine soon then. I have servos coming for it. Don't know if I'm going with a 750 or Spartan for my FBL unit.

I got on the preorder list a couple weeks back so I'm probably in for a long wait which is fine. I waited 3 years for an aurora and I love it.

worth the wait
This heli is definitely worth the wait. I just got back from my first real flights and all I can say is wow. From the top quality materials to the ease of assembly everything seems to be just right with this bird. The mostro is extremely quiet, smooth, fast and quick. It is not going to be outdone in any aspect anytime soon IMHO. I will have no qualms switching from MA to Avant after flying this beast. Way to go Avant and Tom for his excellent work as a rep.

Hilarious

All jokes aside, I hope you have an awesome build! I don't doubt the mostro will fly well. I am just curious how long it will take to see kits in stock for those who were leary of preordering one. And the nitros have yet to be mentioned. Hopefully we see them soon too.

I will probably get a nitro DFC if the release isn't too far away. It should fit an OS 105. It will be my first 700 FBL bird and my first DFC as well. And I can't wait. I will most likely install the Futaba or maybe a Spartan FBL unit with 8717HVs. I have a feeling this heli will be the reedeming factor for my Aurora. I am giving that one to my dad to fiddle around with when the Mostro N shows up. I'm gettin excited.

I highly recommend the Spartan unit it is fantastic. I have not heard much about the futaba other than people who've liked other fbl units better.

@Frito
Yes, I've heard mixed reviews about the Futaba unit. Some say it's the best unit they've flown and other say it's a pain to program. I've also heard that you don't get the most of it unless you buy a Sbus rx for it. But, based on my experience with Futaba gyros, they have always been great gyros. Very consistant and reliable.

I fly Spartan gyros in all but 2 of my helis now and I like them alot. I don't doubt that their FBL unit is just as good. The only thing I've heard that is bad is that the Spartan 760 is it doesn't play well with the Aurora. Funny thing is that's what I have in mine and I have noticed that my tail ticks and I can't dial it out. Maybe that's true. Doesn't matter once I get a Mostro though. Handing it off to be someone else's problem then.

Actually it's a cold, dark laboratory. And I have an assistant to help me build!

I certainly wouldn't want to disappoint me biggest fan, Ladymagic.

I have been well. Just maidened a Spartan Vortex VX1n with V3 firmware last weekend..........

No popcorn is necessary. Just saw my name and had to answer. That's all. Don't want to make the Avant boys nervous.

Mostro certainly looks beautiful. Sounds like a winner.......

preorders
Just wanted to let people know that they are not quite up to November's preorders yet. The kit that was received from a November preorder was a clerical error (lucky guy )
But they are steadily shipping kits so anyone on the list that preordered from September to October that has not received their kit yet do not think they skipped you.
