Which transmitter, which receiver, which auxiliary port?

Will he be using the built-in governor?

Is he using Spektrum satellite receivers with the 3GX or using an external standard receiver such as an AR8000?

I had to check the 3GX operation before answering. In the process, I learned something new.

The 3GX literature seems to ignore what functionality the "BAT/AUX OUT" plug includes.

As it turns out, the "AUX OUT" function is transmitter Channel 8, AUX 3.

I plugged a servo into the "AUX OUT" port and had full control of that servo using TX channel 8. I wasn't sure if anything servo wise came out of the "BAT/AUX OUT" port. Your question and my research taught me something new. Thank you.

So the answer to your question is YES, control the SwitchGlo using TX channel 8.

Remember that when using satellites with the 3GX you MUST reassign TX Channel 5 to control the Governor, and you MUST reassign transmitter Channel 7 to control the gyro gain. The default channels for governor and gyro in Spektrum radios is opposite what it needs to be to properly run the governor and gyro gain.

Make certain that you are able to get adequate power to the 3GX unit. Normally I use both of the lower horizontal connectors for power input.

Six volts is fine. The limiting factor is usually the voltage your servos will sustain without failing.
