how many shims are supposed to be between the spindle dampener o ring and blade grip? I have the 2 shims according to the manual and there is a lot of movement of the spindle in the main hub. if I look between the grip and the hub I can see the o ring (hanging out of wher it's supposed to be)
I need the head to be stiffer

Two shims per side is factory. You can add more to stiffen the head. I did this all the time, since i was used to the MA head.

Ok. I just thought I was missing something because it's way loose compared to most helis. it almost seems like the oring dampener isn't doing anything as most of it isn't in the holder. do those plastic dampener holder( not sure what it's called) wear out? it is an older model of the benzine trainer.( maybe @bladebuster could chime in on its age as he built it)

Its possible the sockets are worn slightly. We do carry replacements. If the orings are old, you may want to think about changing those as well.
74/10 is the hard o rings, and 74/5 are the softer ones.
You may want to go to the hard orings if you like a stiffer head.
