All excellent ideas guys, thanks!
I especially like that link you posted Chet. One sheet would work for me. How would you cut something like that? Would I have to use some sort of concrete saw? Or is there another way it can be done?

It can be scored and broken like sheet rock, it is tougher to do, and very hard on knife blades. It usually doesn't break as cleanly as sheet rock either...but it does get the job done in a pinch. Score it heavily and snap it over the edge of a workbench or something like a 2x4 on the floor.

My son typically cuts it with his 4" grinder and diamond coated blade. If you have a grinder or skill saw you can get a concrete cutting blade that is not diamond coated for less money, it just won't last very long or do as neat of a job.

If you go ceramic tile I thought Home Depot has a wet saw in the store so you can have your tile cut to fit. Plus the ceramic tile already comes with a finish on it.

AWESOME!!

Thanks for the info!

I'll go by the Home Depot and look at some options like either a blade for my grinder or having them cut some stuff.

Check the clearance section. Perhaps you can find some individual 12" or larger CT for cheap.

I didn't have much luck snapping cement board even when using the special scoring tool. I have the diamond blade (from a bathroom remodel). That stuff makes some nasty dust so wear a mask if you cut it.

For those who've seen my story. Within minutes of my post, I am contacted by one who knows about customer support. I sincerely hope it will be smooth sailing from now on.

Regards,
