Hey Guys,

i have both a 3d printer and CNC machine (in 2 weeks) and instead of doing some random useless things that i will never use, is there anyone that needs something cnc cut or 3d printed? let me know. we can work out a VERY low cost (materials and postage) way of getting you what you need. Im an engineering student and most of this will just be experience

thank you!

I have a local guy who does most of my stuff, but if you want practice, I can draw up some stuff that you can mill and print, and then I can fit them and give you feedback.
Most of my stuff is one off, and often there are revisions based on outcome.
Right now, I am working on a bearing block and a fan shroud.

The bearing block will be aluminum and the shroud printed.

You should be prepared to do some drawing as most of my stuff is drawn in 2d....my 3d drawing abilities SUCK as I dont have the time to learn a package....

Hi, thanks for your reply. Bearing block shouldn't be a problem nor the fan shroud. What system did u use to draw the parts in?

I can do 3d drawing, let me know what you need I'm proficient at solidworks.

Thanks,

it would be faster and better made if it were machined from solid block of delrin.

3D printers are cool, but they have a long way to go in terms of the ones available to industrial level units.

the surface finish can be ragged and the internal structure could be filled with voids that lead to structural weaknesses.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

3D PRINTING
Just came upon this post, and was interested as I have 3, 3D printers
One twin head,plastic filiment
Two, resin
Down loaded, the pod holder file, and loaded it, into the new Form2, from Formlabs
Resin being very expensive at over 100 dollars a litre
It would be possible to print,in translucent resin, the pod for around 15 dollars, add set up fee, 10 dollars, postage say 3 dollars,UV post cure
So 30 dollars
Print time would be 1h 39m
Postage time anywhere in the world 3 days, (I am in the UK)

Pity you are so far away, I am in the UK, with a selection of 3D machines

Things have moved on
This machine bolt and thread, are my work, as is the rest

I bought some novelty lighters, they are OK for 1/4 scale

I do not tend to print stuff I can buy, but like thinking outside the box
