I am in the market for a new tail servo for a 700 Gasser. Speed and Torque are important but more important is durability and ability to handle some heat. Trex 700's converted to gas tend to trap heat under the canopy which is where the tail and throttle servo live. I've moved the rest of the electronics out. My current MKS DS 760 has failed in mid flight.

Since I run LiFe, I am leaning towards an HV model. I'd rather undervolt an HV servo than overvolt an 6V servo.

The Protek 250S or 230S look appealing. Normally I am all gung ho about MKS but having had one fail, I am now open to other ideas. Not Torq since they are alleged to be MKS.

Anyone with any feedback on the 250S/230S? I can run either 1500 or 760 types

Audacity models brushless, they rock!
I have one of these in my goblin 630, thing is fast! Brushless motor, water an fuel resistant, and amazing price, don't let the price fool you this servo is as good as most costing like 3x as much and they have top notch customer service http://www.audacitymodels.com/Produ...HV/Default.aspx

Why don't cats get gray hair with age?.....

Clicked on the link: The article on the servo is well written and quite informative - I'd give them a try myself!

Have you decided on which servo you're going with? I recently picked up some used ProTek's you mentioned above from a member on helifreak. Was very impressed w/the specs but haven't tried them as the ship I'm planning to use them on hasn't shipped. But would like to hear what others think. Was heavily leaning toward those audacity servos originally but couldn't pass up on the great deal I got on the ProTeks.

I did buy the Protek tail servo. It is installed but I have to reprogram my BD3SX for it and check the rest of the setup. I might a first test flight off this weekend.
