PER Avant website:
Last week we shipped the Mostro kits to the team pilots and they have been building them. Some finished and started flying them. The feedback we got back was really good. To say they're amazed is an understatement. That makes us at the factory very happy.
From their feedback we found out that we were missing a few screws and a few washers. They also suggested some minor adjustments so we ran those parts again this weekend to make the adjustments and we are processing them to have them done this week to see if we can still start shipping to customers this week. Another thing they found is that one of our pilots, Jack "Frost" Imparato apparently was flying it so aggressively that he was able to slightly bend the blade bolts in flight. Those were the same bolts we used in the Aurora for years without any issue but apparently he was able to bend them in flight. We are sending them all replacements of the blade bolts for stronger ones. Those are also being incorporated to the kits as we speak. Unfortunately the new bolts can't be made of the current pretty Stainless Steel anymore because we need them made out of Alloy Steel instead. We at the factory did tests at very high head speeds ( 2550 rpm ) and weren't able to bend the current bolts but then again we don't have the same blades or settings as the pilot.
Tom "The Boss" Heffel mentioned to us that customers were concerned about heavy receiver batteries attached under the diverter plate under hard 3D conditions and wanted to have two thumbscrews and brackets instead of just one. We decided to include as a default in the kit two thumbscrews and two double hole diverter brackets so that can be achieved.
Regarding the demo video, for some reason USPS didn't deliver Jason Bell's kit even though he's next to us in California when at the same time pilots in NY at the opposite side of the country did. He was very frustrated because out of everyone he's the one that has really pushed the machines here in Vegas and wanted to get his own badly. He's getting his today so he's working on having the release demo recorded over the weekend. We decided to ship more Mostro kits to him this week so he doesn't have to worry about babying that one too much while flying
