Since deciding to get back into helis after being away from them for 20 years, I am going cross cross eyed with all this technology.

Here is the delima.

I will be using a 12ZH with the Align 550E combo. Is there anything I need to worry about with using flybarless electronics and the 12Z?

Align sent me a reply stating that their flybarless system may not work with a 2.4 ghz module on the 12Z.
They also mentioned that they had never seen a module transmitter (JR or Futaba) work with a sattelite system.

What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Shawn

Align must have feces for brains based on the above. The Futaba 12Z with the 2.4GHz TM-14 module works just fine with all RC equipment. I use one as a backup to my 18MZ.

Futaba doesn't use the satellite RX scheme. S-Bus is where Futaba is focusing its attention. S-bus uses a single small RX with a single wire connection to the FBL device instead of needing two satellites RX that are collectively larger and harder to place than a single S-Bus RX.

Thanks for clearing that up. If i wanted to mess around with S-Bus stuff, will the 12Z work or will I need to upgrade to a different transmitter?

Cheers,

Shawn

12Z will work with all FASST and MultiFASST RXs. Just pick one with an S-Bus port and you're good to go. The 12Z does not support FASSTest, which is 2 way transmission from the RX (telemetry).
