The Diabolo S already blew the banshee away at rotor live.. It broke the speed record but it wasn't recorded as a record. They clocked it at 175mph..

Sorry, but its a big difference of a single peak value of the Diabolo S at the Rotor live and the world record of the Banshee team. At the world record it´s the medium value of two flights through a 200m measured track in different directions.

Not a big difference at all, IMO, a few mph here or there at the most.

They are all great machines, just depends on which pilot is having a good day.

Someone is going to come out with a "canopy wax" soon which will buy the pilot another 3-5mph.

Going too? I actually use Turtle Wax Ice on my canopies and blades because it helps make bug guts just wipe off. Probably doesn't hurt for speed either though. Lol

What is awesome is all the innovation.. The scissor link aka anti- rotation link is awesome.. He also designed a way to keep the swash input links completely straight all the time. The way the elevator servo is hooked up is awesome too.. The swashplate is a new design. A lot of good stuff going on here.. Well done Jan and the entire Henseleit team.

FYI,

Fastest speed achieved at the IRCHA Speed Cup from telemetry this year was 304Kph (188.9mph)
Fastest pass recorded at IRCHA this year was 183mph by Miles Dunkel(downwind). No upwind pass was recorded due to equipment malfunction on that flight.
They were a few very fast passes by Diabolo S' at the 2014 FAI records trials but none were official due to scoring malfunctions. From stats, the Diabolo S gives nothing away to the Banshee.

The Banshee still holds the official FAI record.
