I know alot of the older guys don't care for amps, subs ect.. but I know some are so thought I would share what I found..Mom called and said she was cleaning out the attic, said I had some old amp, speakers and radio..She ask what I wanted to do with them so not thinking I said toss it all in the trash..Said she couldn't pick the box up even with my brother helping so told me to come over and help put everything out, glad she told me to come over because I forgot I even had this stuff..

Old school Rockford Punch 150HD,two 12in Rockford SPP-124 Pro Series subs along with a 10 inch mtx thunder 5500 and PowerAcoustik 800X2 amp...The Punch 150HD amp works perfect but the ground needs soldered so being as I know how to solder now (electric helis helped lol),im doing it tonight ..

I used to run all this in a Ford Explorer Sport back in the day and its sooo damn loud, you couldn't stay in the truck with the radio turned up lol..
I tried the MTX and sounded good then I hooked up the two 12in Rockfords ..

Non of the newer subs/amps don't come close in quality and can't wait to get the Rockford amp hooked back up..Going to need a high amp ALT and cap because this will drain a fully charged car battery in 5-10 mins lol..

Reminds me of my car stereo phase in the 90s. Good stuff. Now I just rock whatever stock thing came in whatever car I own.

Those were the great Rockford amps.. My only complaint was keeping up with those darn bass/treble knobs on them....

If in doubt lean it out . We don't do this to save money, we save money to do this

Man that brings back memories! I had Rockford Fosgate in my Trans Am back in the 80's! I had a Punch 150, one punch 75 , and a punch 45., the 150 fed my 12" sub, and two 10'"s , the 75 fed the mid range and highs and my 45 fed the center channel , I had a Audio Control EQX, in the trunk, Audio Control EX4 , and a precision power preamp in the dash, Alpine in the dash as well. what fun it was to be young and no Bills! LOL!

JasonJ,
Thats pretty much what this stuff was from, car stereo phase from years ago...Glad they couldn't pick this box up because I looked on Ebay and one sub (same one I have) sold for $248.60 and the same AMP I have sales for $250.00 to $550.00 depending on if it works or not..Crazy how much this is still worth but these are the last of the made in the USA AMP/Subs..Also WAY under rated..

TheRickster,
Ive never had to screw with mine..Turned the treble all the way down and bass all the way up..My radio has all kinds of options and one is for the subs only, same as adjusting the bass on the AMP..

mr dan,
That sounds like a killer system..Its funny that you said PPI because I went through more boxes today and found some old white with neon striped PPI AMPs,ORION AMPs/subs,Still-water subs ect... ..Going to test all this stuff and Ebay or craigslist it..Still don't understand how I forgot about all this..

Had on installed on my 1989 IROC Z 5.7. Had a Alpine hooked up to it and man did it sound good. Brings back good memories of my single days.

Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.
