A question I just need to clarify.

It seems my fellow countrymen are confused about who is what in US poiltics. (Having all drunk the Obama Kool aid by the way)

They think that a RINO is centre right and Republican are hard right wing.
They say the Ron Paul is a Republican.

Im not expert in US politics by a long shot but to me that seem to be the opposite.
I thought Ron Paul was a Libertarian not a Republican.
And that a RINO is the more extreme right Republican not the more moderate.

So whats the right answer.

Thanks.

Rhino = republican that has no balls. Thus a lefty republican

Ron Paul = nice guy but kind of a nutty libertarian.

Tea Party = constitutional conservative and patriot.

RINO - Republicans eating their own.

Tea Party
(n.) 1. A disillusioned group of U.S. citizens that blindly oppose whatever legislative and/or government policy they perceive as being leftist, but said legislation/policy is actually in their own best interest.

2. Unknowing puppets of capitalist corporations and their congressional silent partners used to derail any progressive movement in the US government and/or society.

3.
The Tea Party is having a rally to oppose the middle class tax break for those Americans making $250K/year or less even though 98% of the Tea Party members fall within this category.

Sarah Palin is their favorite spokesperson

RINO actually stands for "Republican in name only" Basically a person that says they are a republican but do not follow what the GOP wants. Like being pro-abortion or pro gay rights. You know, the civil rights we are all suppose to be granted.

RINO came about because republicans can't get along so they start calling people in their own party names. Not to mature, but that is politics.

If that were true, then Tea Party people would never win elections. The numbers would not be there.

Ah yes. The corporate puppet. the old lefty line spouted whenever they have nothing else to say.

As far as Tea Party members trying to derail any progressive movement, you damned right they are.

Lets see now. The majority of Americans did not like ObummerCare when it was debated. They did not like ObummerCare when it was voted on and signed into law. And, by far, the majority of Americans like it even less now.

And, you call that in our own best interests ?????

Idiot.

The tea party cost republican control of the senate last election cycle. The best they will ever do is win regional/local elections. They will never win a national election.

Somewhat correct. Where you're wrong is saying that a RINO is left leaning socially. Not true. A RINO is such because they believe in big government, big spending, huge taxation, same as the left. The only real difference is the R behind their name and they're still socially conservative.
TEA party is for small government, less intrusion and we don't really give a rip about social issues. The TEA party is just an extension of the Libertarian party (which I proudly am).
Where the TEA party gets hurt, is that we've been infiltrated by the Evangelicals, which kills us.
A true TEA partier is all about shrinking the government, shrinking your taxes and getting the government off our backs.
The outlieing evangelicals aren't any more popular with us than they are with the left.

My turn

Rinos are Republicans that wait for an opportunity to undermine their party by siding with the Democrats when they think no one will notice.....aka "Sister Soldier Moments" - John McCain as a reference.

Tea Party is a group of middle class Americans formed out of frustration from Obama's socialist agenda that has been implemented over the past 6 years. The Tea Party is for principles of freedom, liberty, and conservative values. It stands for Taxed Enough Already and advocates for a smaller government that spends less and reduces taxes on the American people.

The Republican leaders in our House of Representatives and the Senate like that the Tea Party votes Republican, but really views them as a theat to their own "Establishment Candidates" that are willing to cave at any given chance to the whims of the opposition party, Democrats, just to maintain power at the head of a minority party of Republicans.

Blue Dog Democrat used to mean a Democrat with conservative leanings, but they have become extinct and now vote with the Democrat Party also know as Socialists.

The USA is more divided then it ever has been because of Barack Obama's Socialist agenda that robs freedom of choice and liberty from Americans that look to our founding documents to determine the rights of the people and the boundaries of our government. Furthermore, when he is met with opposition both he and his party claims the opposition is racist to invalidate their point of view and steer the debate away from principles and ideas.

The frustration lies in the fact that Obama violates our Constitution and picks and chooses the laws he wishes to enforce based on political gain, with no one to stop him.

And, with the threat of loosing the senate and keeping the house this coming November, he will double down on that.

So whats the right answer.
The US has 3 main business parties, Republican, Democrat and, a distant 3rd, Libertarian. They're basically all the same; they represent only the interests of big business and BB is generally responsible for getting them into office.

The Tea Party is radical offshoot of the Republican party. Kind of a stupider version of a Republican - they still support big business policies, like tax cuts for the wealthy and destruction of the federal government, but with other agendas like a more active dissolution of the bill of rights, racially/religiously motivated discriminatory policies and so on.

Really, the only difference between any of these is the degree to which they're actually up-front about their big business bias. The Democrats lie about it, the Republicans/Tea Party/Libertarians basically just openly admit it.

There hasn't been a healthy labor movement in the US in decades now and the hold on congress and other branches of govt. by the business parties is intensifying.

This has been the main responsibility for the decline in the US economy over the last several decades, particularly outsourcing of jobs and the destruction of on-shore manufacturing.

That's pretty much it. Some shades of grey here and there, but the basic story is pretty somber.

wrong. Tea Partiers don't get involved in social issues. if the Tea Party is so racist/misogynist, why are their 2 biggest draws a black man and a woman???
You are letting a faction of the TEA party (the Evangelicals) taint your view of the Tea Party. Tea Party is for smaller government ....period. For you, for me, for the rich, for the poor.
But as a typical liberal, you LOVE big government and beg for it to get even bigger. One day you may get your wish and you'll be the first one crying about it.
Now to say there's no real differences between the Dems and the Reps, we can find some agreement there.
