Hey guys,

I have a situation and seems to not be getting better. I've got a Goblin 700 (standard version with HPS head) with the following:

Xera 4030-560kv (I know it's a bit small but using it for the meantime)
18T motor pulley
26T tail pulley
Edge 693mm FBL
SAB 115mm tail blades
Torque 9180 x 3
Torque 9188
Kontronik Jive 120HV v9
12S Pulse 5000mah 45C

Tail belt tensioner is just above the side of frame
Tail shaft / pulley / hub / entire assembly is new & 12 flights old
Tail assembly is smooth and has fluid movement

Head Speed is as follows:
Throttle 55%: 1820
Throttle 60%: 1915
Throttle 63%: 1971
Throttle 67%: 2047
Throttle 70%: 2104
Throttle 73%: 2161
Throttle 76%: 2217
Throttle 80%: 2293

*I fly around 2100

My problem is whenever I do a:
Piro circle upright clockwise

My tail would stall or isn't smooth, Piroflip in either direction would be fine.

I'm using a HC3-SX. I have experience setting it up and my Logo 500SE has the same unit with no issues (tail holds solid on the Logo)on the exact same maneuver.

I was thinking, would these be the problem?
- is the motor too weak?
- should I switch to 27T tail pulley?

Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

- Scott

Do you have your travel maxed out on the slider? If i remember correctly, if you have it maxed out on the slider it will cause the blades to stall.

The tail pitch slider reaches its full travel on both sides.

So from what you are saying, I should give about 1-2mm on each side before it reaches it's maximum travel?

Back off 2mm towards the boom. The other side is ok to max out.

What size tail blades are you running? I have my tail setup to just barely max out on either side of the slider, I a have zero issues.

I installed a Quantum 4530-500kv with 20T motor pinion. I also closed the gap between the pitch slider & boom. Tail held nice with the 26T tail pulley with no issues throughout all the headspeed.

Guess the Xera 4030-560kv wasn't strong enough for high speed pirouetting CW maneuver but OK for slower pirouetting.

Thanks for the all the inputs guys. Your responses are much appreciated.
