SHIPPING TO APO
For all the pilots stationed over in Europe and need parts. Hands down to HeliDirect and their shipping methods. Twice in a row I have ordered from them and gotten my parts in a 7 Days.

I've been stationed overseas for a long time and I remember when almost no one would ship to me. I will often chose Heliproz and pay a little for shipping because as long as I've been flying they've been shipping to APO/FPO and with reasonable rates.

Sure I could probably get it with free shipping from Horizon but back in the day they wouldn't be bothered to ship to me.

As far as shipping times goes there is a trick that the shippers can use to make it seem like things take forever. Anyone shipping from the US via USPS priority will get it to you in about 7-10 days but shippers can request a pickup or even create an electronic label and it will give them a tracking number. You get an Email saying that it shipped but it really hasn't. I've been seeing that a lot lately. And if it doesn't say priority your looking at 2-3 weeks. 4 with customs occasionally.

So basically bravo to Helidirect for really shipping things when they say they shipped them.

I think most of the major companies have gotten over their fear of APO/FPO address's. I remember back in the early 2000's it was tough getting parts while I was deployed, but my last deployment I had parts in my hand in a week or so. Also, rates aren't inflated anymore, they used to charge more for shipping to APO/FPO and I never understood why, it doesn't cost them any more than it does to ship anywhere else.Aut viam inveniam aut faciam
