Yes. It doesn't matter what Rx you have, the VBar settings are "in" the VBar. But again, yes.. I buddy boxed my DX9 to my DX6i and flew my 700N VBar today. Works perfectly

No cable needed, the DX9 will wireless buddy box with any Spektrum or JR DSM2 or DSMx transmitter.

ok we set my buddy x3 in the dx9 set its flying well binded the dx6 badj the maser/slave setting so my friend can buddy box . so we test ed the operation give him control w/o motor great he can control all thing so i take off i get in a 15' stable hover give control to dx6 and the heli pitches full collective down so i grabed the sticks and save the heli.. try again same thing but as the heli is dive neg collective i punch out full collective just in nick of time. we land try again the swash stay still ?? so again i bring into hover and bam same dam thing but this time i tried to save it but way to fast ?? WTH so i ve never buddy boxed wireless b4 i m use to the jr cord..

? is is there any way i can give trainee control 7 still use the master sticks? i m use to flying the sticks same as slave so when i hit switch i am ready to save but the dx9 will regain control as soon as the master sticks is moved ?? this confuses me as i was always thought to keep the sticks the same positions on master and slave(so if slave is in control and he does a full pitch climb out i as the master should move my stick as if he were to loose it, i flip the switch, my stick should be where his was ))
?? i know sounds confusing is there any way to set up dx9 so only the switch will give or take control. ??

You can set the transfer to automatically give the master back to you if you move its sticks.

One thing to check is that the slave transmitter can bind with your DX9. When we did mine, we set up a new basic model (heli) in the slave, and set the DX 9 to either programmable master or pilot link and specified which channels should be assigned to the slave.

Without power on the motor, go to your monitor page in your DX9 and engage the trainer switch and check what your slave is doing. You might have to reverse some of the channels in the slave TX to get everything working in the right direction.

The master override setting will automatically take back control of the heli if you move the master sticks. I haven't ever used it, but I would think you would constantly be taking control away from the slave. When I buddy box, I'm constantly moving the sticks in concert with what the model is doing, so I will be in a good position to recover if everything else goes to pot.

i think the slave borrows the setting from the master so reversing ?? but i will look into the monitor and double check the slave input/output. yea wish the could make the regain stick control a option same as u i too move sticks in concert with the slave ?? i can see why they did it but wish u could make it switchable thanks for you response

You can set the transfer to automatically give the master back to you if you move its sticks.

can you make it the old way ? switch only

Negative. The master has no knowledge of the settings within the slave.

can you make it the old way ? switch only
Yes. Default is switch [I]. (aka BIND button) You can assign to any other switch.

Right under that is MASTER OVERIDE. Select INH to disable the "any stick movement" from the DX9 taking over model.
So wait the dx9 is master has the settings.
Correct. Bind model to DX9. Adjust all settings in the DX9. Select Pilot Link and only assign Th, Ail, Elev, Rud to slave/student.
Master keeps control of everything else. Also DX9 throtle hold always active...in case you forget to let go of switch [I] first.
The dx6 Is slave.
Yes. Bind to DX9 after selecting a blank HELI model with NORMAL (1 servo) for swash. Under TRAINER menu leave or select INH. No other programming necessary.
Do I have to copy model to dx6 for settings ??
No.

Check monitor screen for any variances between master and student. If center is off, subtrim student Tx.

I guess it depends on how you think of it. The DX6 doesn't pull or get anything from the DX9. Not a thing. It's the DX9 that "simply" interprets the stick positions of the DX6 as if they are the DX9's own sticks. Then, those stick positions go through the DX9 programming.

Assuming that's how the DX9's trainer function is programmed, of course.
