I am gonna place an order for the rcaerodyne kit today, but will probably not use the mechanics,

goblin mechanics look like they will do the trick, and vario has the tail conversion for the goblin mechs.......I would rather overbuild than under.... outrage HV servos, Xera 4530-500 castle 160hv on 12s, ar7200bx FBL..... Should be a monster??

Now just need to run down the strongest tail drive setup and I think this is doable...

As someone posted earlier, the RC Aerodyne Cobra can do aerobatics using the stock/purpose built mechanics. You just need to make sure that you have a powerful enough motor, high enough head speed and a suitable positive and negative pitch range. You're just asking for a lot of unnecessary work to switch out the included mechanics. If you want to use your own mechanics then buy a less expensive kit that doesn't already include mechanics. What's the purpose in buying a $2K kit and then not using the $1K worth of mechanics that are included?

If you're set on goblin mechanics...
then you can get this one.
http://www.vario-helicopter.net/pro...h-1s-cobra.html

you can either do magic as far as detail is concerned... or keep it simple and light for acrobatics and looking great in the air...

just my 2c...

I am building one of these cobras right now. You will be better off going with the supplied mechanics because you will have to do some playing around to get those to work. Go to the Roban site and dowload the cobra manual so you can see first hand what it is going to take to make the goblin mechanics work.

must be short man syndrome is all I can say. I tried to be nice.. and civil..

anyone that goes to your link will see there is no price and all it says is "taking offers"

I did call rc aerodyne, and made an offer to you based on their opinion of its value from you.

you might want to rethink your sales tactics. I was interested in your fuselage, but I would not take it from you now if it was free!

I feel sorry for the widow who actually is selling this (if what you put on eBay is true) I wonder how she would like how you treat potential buyers........ Just Sayin'

Last year, @ Cajunfest (1hander) was 3ding his Turbine md500 all over!!! Not a light machine by any stretch of the imagination.. So, yes it can be done...
And I have done a loop and roll in a "Full size" CH-53a Helicopter (Have the video) back in the day...
Now having said that, you WILL NOT be seeing me "Loop and Roll" MY Turbine CH-53
But feel free if YOU want to do that with your birds...

Might have to get to the scale meet in Georgia this summer....

This year will be a few week...first part sharing with regular club members, and even some airplane flying if you like..then Wed or Thurs, it becomes all scale helis...great time with great people and even better food...

Slight correction
1hander at Cajun Heli Fest actually was looping and rolling a turbine Vario EC135 with a fenestron tail not an MD500. Proving that if it is built right and flown with audacity it can be done. That is correct for all the naysayers...a fenestron tail!

Do what you gotta do...and as Stan said, good luck. One thing is for sure, it can be done...speed and altitude, speed and altitude!

Don't try this at home kids....

I have to agree with Paul. I have seen 1Hander do loops with this heli at scale masters 2 years ago. He is definitely a skilled pilot...

Here is my RCA 700 size cobra... getting ready to install the included mechanics. I choose the white version so I could do a custom paintjob on it as I love the forest service scheme. I should hopefully have her flying in a week or two, hey Mojave wana get together for the maiden?
