The two big players are Greenland and Antarctic. Greenland is decreasing slowly and Antarctic is increasing
Yes seasonal ice.

BUT

arctic-sea-ice-update-unlikely-to-break-records-but-continuing-downward-trend

Still, the rate at which the Arctic is losing sea ice surpasses the speed at which Antarctic sea ice is expanding.
Look at the information available and make your own determination.
yes true.

Just wait! Some idiot on here will claim to prove global warming because of some event that they have witnessed in their lifetime while admitting that weather patterns run in cycles of tens of thousands of years!

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

I guess you are too young to remember the global cooling thing....

Please explain how you get more ice with global warming?

Or is it just the global cooling kicking in now?

We dont have more ice globally. We have seasonal sea ice in one small part of the world.

I know you dont comprehend.

From NASA.

Still, the rate at which the Arctic is losing sea ice surpasses the speed at which Antarctic sea ice is expanding

And that doesnt count the glaciers worldwide shrinking.

Seasonal sea ice means nothing on a global scale, but you focus on what ever makes you sleep better.

I love this global warming/global cooling. After the scamisters got caught, they had to change it to "Climate Change".

The NOAA.gov site has the nice chart showing sea level change less than 1/8 inch a year. They claim to use accurate satellite measurements to determine this. It'll take 100 years to get close to a foot rise. So all this ice melting hasn't meant dooley. For the non metric folks: 25.4 mm = 1 inch

I love using the government's own data.

Hey on a happier note that'll upset our P.E.T.A. members, Canada will allow up to 700 polar bears to be killed for sport, food, and fur export. They expect to kill only 600 (must be poor shots).

Looks like the total polar bear population is doing pretty good despite the ads showing bears floating on a chunk of ice.

Edited to add in NOAA's chart.

NOAA

Your quote mining is pathetic for such a educated man dil

from NOAA

Independent Evidence Confirms Global Warming in Instrument Record

A new compilation of temperature records etched into ice cores, old corals, and lake sediment layers reveals a pattern of global warming from 1880 to 1995 comparable to the global warming trend recorded by thermometers. This finding, reported by a team of researchers from NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center

“Using only temperature-sensitive paleoclimate proxy records, un-calibrated to instrument data, it is possible to conclude that the warming trend in the global surface temperature record is supported by independent evidence,” said David Anderson, head of the Paleoclimatology Branch at NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center and lead author of the paper

Wow, I hate to nit pick but "it is possible to conclude" is hardly conclusive at all.
Is there more to this?

Conclude = to reach as a logically necessary end by reasoning

to make a decision about

to come to an agreement on

to bring about as a result

to form a final judgment

to reach a decision or agreement

Nothing wishy washy about that oher then your statement

So you don't really know what they meant either. I guess that it's left open to conjecture. "Possible to conclude" means nothing. It's "possible to conclude" that the statement is BS based on the evidence presented.

And that's why I enjoy looking at the raw data to reach a conclusion instead of having someone make a "possible to conclude" as if it were fact.

Uh-oh, bad news for surfers on this global warming.
Bondi shock: Fewer big waves due to climate change

Almost as iconic as the koala (threatened by climate change) is the surfing at Bondi, which is, er, threatened by climate change:

Bondi Beach surfers warned of fewer big waves due to climate change

Surfers in eastern Australia have been warned that large waves could become less frequent, as the number of days with waves of 12 feet or more will drop by up to 40 per cent by the end of the century.

Researchers have warned surfers along Australia’s east coast that the days of big waves are set to end, with climate change expected to cause a severe drop in the frequency of large ocean waves.

The study, published in Nature Climate Change, found the number of days with large waves of 12 feet or more on Australia’s east coast will drop by up to 40 per cent by the end of the century and about by 20 per cent over the next 30 years. The findings were based on measurements from five buoys in deep ocean waters located about four to eight miles off the coast of the state of New South Wales. These measurements were collated with storm data collected from the atmosphere.

“Results are remarkably consistent between different [climate models], allowing anthropogenic influences to be clearly demonstrated, with fewer days with large waves expected to occur in eastern Australia due to increasing greenhouse gas concentrations,” the study says. (source)

Wow, on the one hand we have the alarmists declaring severe hurricanes while these guys say the surfer waves will die down.

Hey Dil I watched a report on the Great lakes on PBS the great lakes association of scientist are happy to see that the lakes froze over so quickly this year . This minimized evaporation in the fall and with record snow and ice formed the lake very well could rise over Three feet which will bring levels to near normal which they haven't been for a while. the lakes have not froze this much since the 90's

You cannot legalize morality. It's internal not external. You either have it or you don't.
